Globally, gold-backed ETFs reported net inflows of 15 tons last month, reflecting an increase of about $824 million.
This follows on the heels of a 32-ton increase in ETF gold holdings in March after 10 straight months of net outflows.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed on Tuesday that Washington is not giving up on the policing of speech. The rulers have developed an artificial intelligence-based system to detect and gather “Russian disinformation” online. Blinkin made the announcement at the Freedom House 2023 Annual Awards Ceremony.

It should come as no surprise, since this is the same mainstream media that willfully interfered with the 2020 election by suppressing the story about Hunter’s laptop, scoffing at it as “disinformation.” Of course, we know now beyond a doubt that the laptop story, along with many others over the past few years, were not just crazy conspiracy theories but were, in fact, true.

In early May, Reuters published a report that truly captured my attention. “European savers are pulling more of their money from banks, looking for a better deal as lenders resist paying up to hold on to deposits some feel they can currently live without,” the article reported. Over in the US, we see a very similar picture. As the FT also recently reported, “big US financial groups Charles Schwab, State Street and M&T suffered almost $60bn in combined bank deposit outflows in the first quarter.”

That can often mean having their social media accounts “deplatformed”, but it can also mean being “de-banked” by financial institutions. It’s time for another US presidential race where populist factions on both sides spend a few months angrily decrying the establishment before voting for candidates in the general election who will fully serve that same establishment.
I think this is just the norm now. Public discontent with the US political status quo is now so great that there’s going to be a new “Hey kids, you can vote your way into revolutionary change!” feature built into every presidential election. 2012 was the end of a political era.
