There are new polls out of Harvard and NBC that show surprising results on gun ownership and rights. According to NBC, a majority (52%) now say that they or someone in their household owns a gun. Most notably, the Harvard poll shows that six in ten voters believe owning a gun is a necessary part of protecting themselves from criminals.
Despite the strong anti-gun rights message from the White House and the media, the public seems to be moving significantly in the opposite direction.
by Wallace Garneau, America Outloud:
The Second Amendment exists to protect the First Amendment. Democrats don’t like that because its absolute authority hangs like a personal threat to their agenda. They fear that if the white peasants Obama described in his first campaign, who “cling to the guns and bibles,” were to become angry and do something about it, they could be finished.
from Moonbattery:
In a trial balloon for the Democratic Party, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham suspended the Second Amendment by executive order in the name of another supposed health emergency. If this flies, Biden will issue a similar decree. But it won’t fly:
On Sunday afternoon, dozens of gun rights activists gathered in Old Town Albuquerque to voice their displeasure with Gov Grisham’s 30-day suspension of open and concealed carry laws that went into effect in the city of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. Many of the protesters openly displayed their firearms in a deliberate defiance of Grisham’s decree.

No true-blue Second Amendment advocate would buy into this scheme, which amounts to a backdoor trap to register/verify the ownership and whereabouts of all firearms
The United States is about to receive its first domestically produced biometric “smart gun.”
These weapons unlock like a smartphone with the owner’s fingerprints or other biometric data.
Biometric Update reports that Colorado-based startup Biofire says it will begin shipping its fingerprint and facial recognition-equipped handguns by the end of March.
Remember when I said that if a .30-06 rifle round actually hit his neck, the neck tissue would explode? This video proves it. It's OBVIOUS Charlie was not shot with a 30-06 round. The FBI is lying. As usual. https://t.co/MVsGMrFc61

As the political climate heats up surrounding gun control and legislation, more Americans are buying firearms today than six years ago. In the past twenty years, gun ownership has risen slightly among women and Hispanics while it has decreased among men.
In 2023, 32% of Americans own at least one firearm. There are approximately 259,000,000 adults, which equates to 82,880,000 people who own a firearm in the U.S.

California is betting that code and blueprints can be treated as contraband by not calling it speech.
A lawsuit filed this week by California officials places online publishing itself under judicial scrutiny, asking a court to treat some shared digital files as a form of regulated weaponry rather than expressive material.
Attorney General Rob Bonta and San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu announced a civil action against Gatalog Foundation Inc. and CTRLPew LLC, accusing the two organizations of violating state law by making firearm-related computer code and instructions publicly accessible.
from Revolver News:
The left has gone so far off the rails, even their own pet projects are crashing and burning. When you push radical nonsense long enough, eventually the donors dry up, the base checks out, and the circus tent folds up and collapses. Well, that’s exactly what’s happening with David Hogg’s once-hyped anti-gun group, March for Our Lives.

I think the most important preparations we make are those that overlap in “fun” and “useful” categories. For me, that overlap is best represented in marksmanship. I’ve always loved marksmanship and being a better marksman makes me better able to defend my family if the second worst day of my life happens to be today.
I used a SurvivalBlog Writing Contest prize Course Certificate toward the full Gunsite 250 class. The 250 defensive pistol is their standard basic defensive pistol class. Because 250 Defensive Pistol is a 5-day course, the credit that I won writing an article for SurvivalBlog only went part of the way. I had to put my own money towards the rest of the tuition, as well as money for the ammo, gear, lodging, food, and transportation. Being so far away, this training was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so making the jump to the 5-day course was the best choice for my family.
by Matt Margolis, PJ Media:

Most news articles about the animal in Lewiston, Maine, who shot 31 people, killing 18, focus specifically on the shooter’s skin color and “AR-15 style” rifle. The media seem to have missed the ten mass shootings that have taken place in the three and a half days since the Maine massacre.
by Jose Nino, Big League Politics:
On November 30, 2023, Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett announced that she is entertaining the idea of granting an emergency injunction filed by the National Association for Gun Rights, to halt the implementation of a prohibition on AR-15s and standard-capacity magazines.
This comes after the 7th Circuit’s panel, made up of three judges, issued a ruling that AR-15s are not “arms” as far as the Second Amendment goes.
