In 2020, countries across the world followed in the footsteps of China and locked down hard against COVID-19. Liberties were drastically curtailed. Update: The Pentagon walked back Austin’s comments, claiming he was referring to total Palestinian deaths based on numbers from Gaza’s Health Ministry, not just women and children.
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on Thursday that Israel has killed over 25,000 Palestinian women and children in Gaza since October 7.
When asked how many women and children have been killed during a House Armed Services Committee, Austin replied, “It’s over 25,000.”

Barr’s objective was to convince conference attendees that the Fed has its eye on the ball when it comes to Wall Street mega banks and their counterparties who are sitting on the opposite sides of derivative trades totaling tens of trillions of dollars. (Yes, trillions.)
The most illuminating and dangerous elements of Barr’s speech are what he didn’t say.
To remind attendees of what could happen if counterparty risks were not managed properly, Barr cited Long Term Capital Management (LTCM) and Archegos Capital Management.
