POLL: Majority Of Voters Believe Randos From the Street Would be Better Than Corrupt Members of Congress

According to a Rasmussen poll, 54% of likely United States voters believe that a group of people randomly selected from the phone book would do a better job tackling the nation’s problems than the current Congress. 27% of voters disagree and do not believe a randomly selected group of individuals could do a better job.

Only 20% believe the average member of Congress listens most to the voters he represents. 67% believe they listen mostly to party leaders in Congress. 12% are unsure.

33% of Democrat voters, 15% of Republican voters, and 13% of independent voters believe the average elected official in Congress listens mostly to the voters he or she represents.

71% of Republican voters, 57% of Democrat voters, and 75% of independent voters believe elected officials only cater to the interests of party leaders in Congress.

57% of Republican voters, 46% of Democrat voters, and 58% of independent voters believe a randomly selected group of people from a phone book would do a better job at handling the US’s problems than the present Congress.

Of the voters who believe the average elected official in Congress listens mostly to party leaders, 59% indicated that a randomly selected group of people could do a better job than Congress in the present year.

71% of white voters,  55% of black voters, 62% of Hispanic voters, and 62% of other non-white minorities believe the average elected official in Congress primarily listens to party leaders.

When it comes to income categories, voters making between $30,000 and $50,000 annually are mostly likely to believe that a randomly selected group of people from a phone book would do a better job of tackling the nation’s many problems than the current Congress.

Indeed, DC is beyond corrupt and out of touch with the interests of Middle America. At this point, Joe Blow from the street would actually do a better job representing the country than the average politician. This political class behaves like an alien occupation entity and it should be the main priority of the right to delegitimize it at  every step of the way.
