With NATO bracing for a Russian offensive, with Ukraine’s army undermanned and under-armed, and NATO officials admitting the alliance has nearly depleted its weapons stockpiles, Joe Biden was sent for a stroll through Kiev, with air raid sirens wailing in the background.  A pro-war Atlantic Council hack, Daniel Fried, an expert at imposing killer sanctions, proclaimed Biden’s visit as ranking “with other great presidential moments of leadership in defense of freedom”, comparing it to JFK’s “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech, and Ronald Reagan’s “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall” address.  This public relations stunt was aimed at creating an “indelible memory”, to rally enthusiasm in Kiev and in NATO capitals for a war that leading U.S. defense officials privately are coming to admit is lost.
