The messages are coming in loud and clear today – from the crashing pound, to repudiation of establishment governments in Italy, Sweden and more to come, to Hungarian Prime Minister Orban’s call to end the Sanctions War and do so pronto.
So let’s be clear: Washington’s dunderheaded intervention in the intramural spat between Russia and Ukraine and the accompanying global Sanctions War is the surely the stupidest, most destructive project to arise from the banks of the Potomac in modern times. And the architects of this perfidious folly – Biden, Blinkin, Sullivan, Nuland, et. al. – cannot be condemned harshly enough.

Hurricane Ian will go down as one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the United States. The utter devastation that we are witnessing in southwest Florida is difficult to comprehend, and it will literally take years for the region to recover. When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2006, it was just a Category 3 storm. Hurricane Ian was a very strong Category 4 storm when it finally made landfall, and it very nearly hit Category 5. Some media outlets were reporting that Ian had maximum sustained winds of 150 mph, while others were reporting that Ian had maximum sustained winds of 155 mph. In either case, it came really close to becoming a Category 5 storm.

One of the go-to accusations of the political left against conservatives is the notion that we are “intolerant” of others to the point of being hateful and dangerous. There is very little actual evidence to support this claim. We continue to hear about how we are racists and extremists, yet the only event leftists are ever able to cite as an example is the January 6th protests – An event which did involve rioters, violence and injuries, but also zero deaths actually caused by conservative protesters. You would think a supposed insurrection attempt would involve plenty of guns, bombs, fire and murder, but nothing close to this occurred. Amazing what little damage has been caused by such a group of “extremists.”

Money supply growth fell again in August, dropping to a 36-month low. August’s drop continues a steep downward trend from the unprecedented highs experienced during much of the past two years. During the thirteen months between April 2020 and April 2021, money supply growth in the United States often climbed above 35 percent year over year, well above even the “high” levels experienced from 2009 to 2013.
During August 2022, year-over-year (YOY) growth in the money supply was at 4.35 percent. That’s down from July’s rate of 4.84 percent, and down from August 2021’s rate of 8.28 percent. The growth rate peaked in February 2021 at 23.12 percent.

In case you haven’t noticed productivity has been in the tank. Even the government admits it, but you see it everywhere. Staff in stores that aren’t doing much if anything at all, surly assistance, firms apologizing when you come in the door because they’re “short-staffed” and similar.
Productivity is simple to define: It is doing more with less.
That’s all.
It is, over the five or so thousand years of recorded human history, the single event that moves the common status of mankind forward.
But now, it has stopped.
