A bill introduced in the US House would put the American financial system back on a gold standard.

Rep. Alex Mooney (R-WV) introduced HR9157. Titled the Gold Standard Restoration Act, the legislation would peg the dollar to a fixed weight of gold.

The gold standard would protect against Washington’s irresponsible spending habits and the creation of money out of thin air,” Rep. Mooney said in a statement. “Prices would be shaped by economics rather than the instincts of bureaucrats. No longer would our economy be at the mercy of the Federal Reserve and reckless Washington spenders.”

On Wednesday, the PPI (Producer Price Index) rose 0.4% for the month, twice the expected amount, and today’s CPI print reveals a shocking 8.2% year-over-year inflation rate, the highest in 40 years.

The Post Millenial is reporting that Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, is sending roughly 20,000 of his blankets, pillows, and Children’s Bible Pillows to those who were pounded by Hurricane Ian in Fort Myers, Fla. He’s even showing up himself to help hand them out.

I tweeted a handful of stores that canceled Lindell and his products to see what they were donating. Thus far, I’ve heard crickets.
