2<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0showed 76.4% of COVID-19 patients (aged 18 to 65) in New York City who were placed on ventilators died. Among patients over age 65 who were vented, the mortality rate was a whopping 97.2%.<\/p>\nIf you were older than 65, you were 26 times more likely to survive if you were NOT placed on a vent.3<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0A small study from Wuhan, China, put the ratio of deaths at 86%,4<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and in Texas, 84.9% of patients died after more than 96 hours on a ventilator.5<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\nIn a widely-shared YouTube video6<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0(above) posted March 31, 2020, Dr. Cameron Kyle-Sidell, a critical care specialist at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York, warned that \u201cwe must change what we are doing if we want to save as many lives as possible.\u201d Sidell was adamant that doctors were \u201ctreating the wrong disease\u201d and that putting COVID patients on mechanical ventilation was all wrong.<\/p>\n\u201cWe are operating under a medical paradigm that is untrue,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Sidell said.\u00a0\u201cI fear that this misguided treatment will lead to a tremendous amount of harm to a great number of people in a very short time \u2026 This method being widely adopted at this very moment at every hospital in the country \u2026 is actually doing more harm than good.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
