The past team of &#8220;trust and safety\u201d is a disgrace, so it doesn\u2019t have any right to judge what is being done now. By default, they also censored Joe Biden&#8217;s deep involvement and shady business dealings with foreign adversaries.<\/p>\n<p>At the time platform executives, including then CEO Jack Dorsey, justified the multi-month banning of the account belonging to the New York Post &#8212; the nation&#8217;s oldest paper &#8212; whose reporters broke the laptop story in October 2020. They also banned White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany after she shared the story, along with countless others who did the same.<\/p>\n<p>During testimony on Capitol Hill in 2021, Dorsey\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/03\/25\/dorsey-says-blocking-posts-hunter-biden-story-was-total-mistake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">admitted the social media platform\u00a0<\/a>had no factual basis for censoring the story.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p id=\"isPasted\">Twitter doesn\u2019t have a \u201ccensoring department\u201d that blocked The Post from tweeting last fall, CEO Jack Dorsey said Thursday \u2014 but he wouldn\u2019t reveal who was responsible for the blunder.<\/p>\n<p>At a congressional hearing on misinformation and social media, Dorsey said Twitter made a \u201ctotal mistake\u201d by barring users from sharing The Post\u2019s bombshell October report about Hunter Biden\u2019s emails.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter also locked The Post out of its account for more than two weeks over baseless charges that the expos\u00e9 used hacked information \u2014 a decision Dorsey chalked up to a \u201cprocess error.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/katiepavlich\/2022\/11\/30\/musk-confirms-yes-twitter-interferes-in-elections-n2616536\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Read More @ Townhall.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Katie Pavlich, Townhall: Newly minted Twitter CEO and owner Elon Musk revealed Wednesday that under previously leadership, the social media giant did in fact interfere in elections.
