I am going to bounce around a little here, so please bear with me as we highlight states and/or cities within the U.S. that liberal Democrats have long considered their utopian dreams. High taxes, strict regulations, with nanny-state policies and laws.

California comes to mind in the number one spot, where Democrat politicians believe a boot on the necks of citizens is appropriate if a key liberal cause is at stake.

TRUTH LIVES on at https://sgtreport.tv/

CALIFORNIA, THE GOLD STANDARD FOR LIBERAL IDEOLOGY

Taxes: Liberal California leaders have never met a tax they did not love, so it stands to reason their taxes are among the highest in the nation

Key Takeaways from the website The Balance are as follows:

California’s income tax adds a “millionaire’s tax,” a 1% surcharge to incomes of $1 million or more for single taxpayers and $1,198,024 for married taxpayers who file jointly.

The state’s sales tax was the highest in the nation in 2021 at 7.25%.

California’s property taxes are less harsh, with an effective rate of 0.74% as of 2022.

The state doesn’t have an inheritance tax. Its estate tax was repealed in 2005.

They have a state income tax, CA sales tax, CA excise taxes, property taxes, capital gains tax, inheritance and estate taxes(death taxes!),.

SEE: A guide to California state taxes

Regulations: California has long been known as “the most regulated” state in America. From emission standards to banning the sale of all new gasoline-powered cars and passenger trucks by 2035 to force citizenry to buy electric cars, to limiting water usage.

There are more but it would take multiple pages to list all CA’s regulations, all meant to control the citizenry.

Gun Control: CA has the strictest gun control laws in the nation, many considered anti-Second Amendment as they violate the U.S. constitutional rights of Americans.

The point that CA makes is that they are the gold standard of what states should all be to Democrats.

New York follows CA closely in being the gold standard.

Tax the rich, give to the poor, push climate change policies, and become the nanny-state which controls almost every aspect of their citizens’ lives.

So why were Republicans able to flip seats from blue to red in NY and CA to hand control of the House of Representatives to the GOP?
