from Voice Of Europe:
Italy has seen a massive drop in the number of asylum requests in the second quarter of the year, ANSA reports.
Compared with the same period in 2017, there were 20,500 fewer asylum requests in the second quarter of 2018. Looking at the first quarter of 2018 and 2017, there’s a drop of 4,500 requests.
The statistics were provided by Eurostat on Tuesday. “It is the country with the most marked absolute drop in requests, followed by Germany (-12,000 over the year)”, the agency says.
