The war drums are beating louder, and as US Ambassador to the UN Nicky Haley said moments ago as she speaks live (webcast), the North Korea launch is clear, sharp military escalation and the US will use the full range of its capabilities in North Korea including military force, “if it must.” Her key soundbites from Reuters and Bloomberg:
HALEY: PREPARED TO USE THE FULL RANGE OF ITS CAPABILITIES TO DETER NORTH KOREA, INCLUDING MILITARY FORCE “IF WE MUST”
HALEY: U.S. WON’T HAVE PATIENCE FOR WATERED DOWN UN RESOLUTION
She also said that an escalated response needed in wake of ICBM launch, and sent a clear warning to China over supporting N. Korea whose launch shows North Korea “does not want to be part of a peaceful world”:
The head of the upper house Committee for International Relations has called for reporters to disclose the real motives and methods of Western nations in order to debunk the ‘Russian danger myth’ circulated in the media.
In an article published in the popular daily Izvestia on Tuesday, Senator Konstantin Kosachev wrote that the Western mass media distorted information about Russia’s intentions as the main weapon in their information war.
The main objective behind this is the creation of a myth that portrays Russia as an aggressor nation, the senator added.
“Thanks to all these Orwellian statements we are now living in some sort of an inside-out reality. In which unanimous informational baiting is called an anti-propaganda campaign, sanctions are called a reaction and boosting the military might of the world’s strongest bloc is called a reply to aggression,” the Russian senator wrote.

Today, we’re going to start with two extremely powerful quotes, regarding the history of monetary destruction…
“An almost hysterical antagonism toward the gold standard is one issue which unites statists of all persuasions. They seem to sense…that gold and economic freedom are inseparable, that the gold standard is an instrument of laissez-faire, and that each implies and requires the other.”
…and what we can, and must do, to stop it…
“It’s time for us to declare our independence from an oppressive government that seeks to control our money and our lives in ways unimaginable to those who rebelled against the British Crown in 1776.”

If you suffer from migraines or know someone who does, you’ll be familiar with the particular brand of debilitating pain that sets this type of headache apart from ordinary headaches. It might even be so strong that you have no choice but to put your life on hold until it passes. You might think that nothing works to help abate this excruciating pain. It’s true that migraines can be difficult to treat, but are you sure you’ve tried everything?
One often-overlooked treatment for migraines has just been shown in a study to work even better than migraine drugs: Cannabinoids. A study found that pills that contain these chemicals can reduce migraine pain by as much as 43.5 percent. Not only did it alleviate migraines, but it also helped curb stomach aches and muscle pain.
The study looked at 79 people who regularly suffer from cluster headaches and migraines. Some participants were given oral doses of two cannabis compounds each day for three months. The first compound, THC, is known for creating the psychological effects of cannabis, while the second compound, cannabidiol (CBD) has several therapeutic benefits including its antioxidant ability.

The day before the 4th of July, when most Americans were hustling about preparing for family barbecues, the New York Times finally decided to publish an editorial warning about Wall Street’s potential threat to the nation. Unfortunately, it did so with the kind of timidity we see regularly from cowed or compromised Wall Street banking regulators. The editorial writers noted that: “It’s entirely possible that the system is more fragile than the Fed’s stress tests indicate,” and they called for “heightened vigilance of derivatives in particular” without providing any detailed data.
A more accurate assessment of the situation would have been this: There is only one industry in the United States that has twice in a period of less than 100 years brought about a devastating economic crisis in the country. Wild speculation coupled with poor regulation of mega Wall Street banks brought about the Great Depression in the 1930s, leading to massive job losses, bank failures, poverty and economic misery for tens of millions of innocent Americans. The precise same combination of wild speculation and crony regulators created the Wall Street crash of 2008, throwing millions of Americans into unemployment and foreclosure while creating obscene bailouts and bonuses for bankers, and leaving the U.S. with such a low economic growth rate to this day that many Americans feel they are still living in the Great Recession.
by Nick Giambruno, International Man:
Every July 4, Americans have less independence to celebrate.
The country’s original principles preserved a certain degree of independence for the individual. But today, the US only pays lip service to those ideals.
In light of Independence Day, I think we should consider an important question:
What does real independence look like, and how can you achieve it?

The Vatican is being rocked by scandals; two high-ranking members of the congregation have been arrested for lewd crimes including one alleged to have sexually assaulted children.
The Pope’s chief financial adviser, Cardinal George Pell, and another unknown top priest have been arrested. Pell stands accused of possession of child pornography and the unknown priest is accused of hosting a drug fueled sex orgy party.
Last month, Pell, one of Australia’s most senior Catholics, was charged with multiple counts of “historical” sexual assault offenses according to police, the Independent reported.
