Following an unsuccessful CBDC launch, Nigeria’s central bank is now trying to cut off cash. Bitcoin can help Nigerians find sovereignty.
Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, introduced a central bank digital currency (CBDC), the eNaira, into its financial system in late 2021, an action that paved the way for different sets of financial policies, regulations and restrictions from the country’s central bank.
In an attempt to drive consumers toward alternative options, like its CBDC, the Nigerian government has now put restrictions on the amount of cash that can be withdrawn. It has limited cash withdrawal from banks to about $225, which is around 100,000 naira per week, with a daily limit of about $45. This is another example of how Nigeria’s financial terrain has been a rollercoaster of economic sabotage since the launch of the eNaira.

The edible insect industry is booming. And although the thought of eating bugs may be unappealing, insect protein is already being used for aquaculture, livestock feed, pet foods, and many products intended for human consumption. Insects are also being hailed as a possible solution to world hunger as increasing populations, and limited resources become a growing concern, and food industries are compelled to find viable alternatives.

This essay is the Introductory Chapter to a new series of E-books which will very soon be published on bluemoonofshanghai.com.
When I began doing my historical research in earnest perhaps 20 years ago in Shanghai, my interest was driven by primarily two things: one was the incessant American propaganda flooding the world, and particularly China, with an entirely unjustified air of moral superiority that masked all of the American crimes and atrocities committed over centuries. The second was the irritating flood of negative propaganda about China, filling the print and airwaves about China’s mostly imaginary inferiority to the exceptional Americans. From this, I intended to write a series of articles, and perhaps a book or two, that illuminated the opposite side of these two pictures. This is an oversimplification, but my research and writing interests were limited to an attempt to rectify the standard narrative of “China bad; US good”.

“Year of Efficiency”
Sometimes things must get worse before they get better. To completely remodel a kitchen, for instance, you must first demo and gut the old one. These initial steps backward can be demoralizing.
But there’s no way around it. And with perseverance and an ample budget, the ultimate result is usually a big improvement.
Similarly, remodeling a tired company requires making short term sacrifices for long term gains. The initial efforts can produce ugliness. And with the lives and livelihoods of employees on the line, the decisions can be emotional. Yet sometimes it must be done.

In a move that must not be taking lightly, Kamala Harris told an international audience that the United States has formally determined Russia has committed “crimes against humanity” during their invasion of Ukraine.
Harris made the statements on Saturday during her speech at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

Videos released hours ago on Twitter show multiple examples of undercover federal agents at the Capitol on Jan 6.
Now, there is even more evidence showing the extent of the presence of undercover federal agents at the US Capitol on Jan 6.
In the first video, released by FreeStateWill on Twitter hours ago, two officers are shown following Ashli Babbitt into the Capitol. Officer 2 reiterates his belief that someone was going to get shot. Then they join in chanting, “Whose house? Our house!”

For the sake of climate justice, transit justice, environmental justice, and Indigenous justice, the environment police want to reduce car ownership by making EV cars travel less before a charge.
More Batteries Not Enough, We Want Your Car
A consortium of California university professors and the Climate Community project say that more EVs alone will not solve the climate crisis. They are coming after your car.

Greens (and Reds) Don’t Like Cars, Period
Late last month, Joe Biden was mocked for posting a photo of himself in an electric vehicle (a GMC Hummer) that costs $110,000 and up. And for touting a $7,500 federal tax credit that doesn’t apply to vehicles that cost over $80,000. In other words, the 46th president was ripped for confirming the stereotype that electric cars are a vanity passion for rich green liberals.

A recent survey pointed out what we’ve been saying all along – groceries prices are hard to handle, and quality food has become a luxury that few can afford. The survey was sponsored by Lean and Fresh, a food delivery service, which sought a case study on how inflation was affecting American diets.
The survey respondents weren’t the people you might expect to be having trouble being able to afford groceries. It is not just poor, non-working people with a dozen children who are struggling.

Yes, there is one coming — right here, in the United States.
Now maybe you believe the jab campaign has destroyed fertility and maybe you don’t but it doesn’t matter when you get down to it. The US has ruined, over the space of three or more decades, both the incentives and desire for young people to have children.
There are an utterly huge number of factors at play here — too many to actually list them all — but I’ll list a few.
