How The Wall Street Journal Turns the Truth On its Head

from thedailybell:

And the award for most misleading headline goes to the Wall Street Journal.

What do you think an article entitled, Unlike Most Industries, Drone Makers and Operators Clamor for Federal Regulation, is all about?

If you guessed it is about drone makers and operators clamoring for more regulations, you are wrong.

Exactly the opposite is true. The drone industry is being stifled by overbearing regulation. Because of one size fits all federal regulations, all across America, it is almost impossible to use drones for commercial purposes.

That is why drone makers, operators and many of their would-be customers are bucking the governmentwide trend toward looser oversight. Additional regulations are their sole means of getting a green light for a much broader array of promising uses.

…these contrarian voices argue that swift federal action is essential for the technology to flourish.

They want a green light. Who put up the red light?

…the Federal Aviation Administration has given limited approvals for small, remotely piloted aircraft weighing up to 55 pounds.

With some exceptions, the initial package of rules permits operations only during daylight hours, up to an altitude of 400 feet and within sight of operators on the ground.

Clearly trying to get rid of those regulations is still trending towards looser oversight. The swift federal action they are clamoring for is to undo previous federal action!

The Wall Street Journal says drone operators see more federal regulations as the only way to get rid of tough federal regulations.

Iran Accord, War and the Doomed Dollar

by Finian Cunningham,  Daily Reckoning:

US President Barack Obama has given an extraordinary ultimatum to the Republican-controlled Congress, arguing that they must not block the nuclear accord with Iran. It’s either “deal or war,” he says.

In a televised nationwide address on August 5, Obama said: “Congressional rejection of this deal leaves any US administration that is absolutely committed to preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon with one option: another war in the Middle East. I say this not to be provocative. I am stating a fact.”

The American Congress is due to vote on whether to accept the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed July 14 between Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers –the US, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China. Republicans are openly vowing to reject the JCPOA, along with hawkish Democrats such as Senator Chuck Schumer. Opposition within the Congress may even be enough to override a presidential veto to push through the nuclear accord.

In his drastic prediction of war, one might assume that Obama is referring to Israel launching a preemptive military strike on Iran with the backing of US Republicans. Or that he is insinuating that Iran will walk from self-imposed restraints on its nuclear program to build a bomb, thus triggering a war.

But what could really be behind Obama’s dire warning of “deal or war” is another scenario — the collapse of the US dollar, and with that the implosion of the US economy.

That scenario was hinted at by US Secretary of State John Kerry. Speaking in New York on August 11, Kerry made the candid admission that failure to seal the nuclear deal could result in the US dollar losing its status as the top international reserve currency.

“If we turn around and nix the deal and then tell [US allies], ‘You’re going to have to obey our rules and sanctions anyway,’ that is a recipe, very quickly for the American dollar to cease to be the reserve currency of the world.”

In other words, what really concerns the Obama administration is that the sanctions regime it has crafted on Iran — and has compelled other nations to abide by over the past decade — will be finished. And Iran will be open for business with the European Union, as well as China and Russia.

It is significant that within days of signing the Geneva accord, Germany, France, Italy and other EU governments hastened to Tehran to begin lining up lucrative investment opportunities in Iran’s prodigious oil and gas industries. China and Russia are equally well-placed and more than willing to resume trading partnerships with Iran. Russia has signed major deals to expand Iran’s nuclear energy industry.

American writer Paul Craig Roberts said that the US-led sanctions on Iran and also against Russia have generated a lot of frustration and resentment among Washington’s European allies.

“US sanctions against Iran and Russia have cost businesses in other countries a lot of money,” Roberts told this author.

“Propaganda about the Iranian nuke threat and Russian threat is what caused other countries to cooperate with the sanctions. If a deal worked out over much time by the US, Russia, China, UK, France and Germany is blocked, other countries are likely to cease cooperating with US sanctions.”

Roberts added that if Washington were to scuttle the nuclear accord with Iran, and then demand a return to the erstwhile sanctions regime, the other international players will repudiate the American diktat.

“At that point, I think much of the world would have had enough of the US use of the international payments system to dictate to others, and they would cease transacting in dollars.”

The US dollar would henceforth lose its status as the key global reserve currency for the conduct of international trade and financial transactions.

Former World Bank analyst Peter Koenig says that if the nuclear accord unravels, Iran will be free to trade its oil and gas — worth trillions of dollars — in bilateral currency deals with the EU, Japan, India, South Korea, China and Russia, in much the same way that China and Russia and other members of the BRICS nations have already begun to do so.

In the recent issue of Action Comics #987, “The Oz Effect,” released Wednesday, Superman arrives in the nick of time to protect a group of undocumented immigrants from a white man sporting an American flag bandanna, wielding a machine gun, who is going to shoot them for taking his job.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The message could not be more clear. If you are in favor of border security and stopping illegal immigration to the United States, you are a white supremacist. Of course, the American flag, bandanna wearing “bad guy” that Superman stops is, naturally, a white supremacist.  You can’t be pro-American without be a white supremacist, right? Just when you think things can’t get any more stupid or idiotic, they do. This is what it means to be a Progressive Liberal in the Alt-Left in 2017.

In the recent issue of Action Comics #987, “The Oz Effect,” released Wednesday, Superman arrives in the nick of time to protect a group of illegal immigrants from a white man sporting an American flag bandanna, wielding a machine gun, who is going to shoot them for taking his job.

Superman blocks the bullets before they hit the terrified people.

“Stop this!” Superman orders the gunman.

“Why?!” he responds. “They ruined me! Stole from me!”

Grabbing the gunman by the collar and pulling him in close, Superman says, “The only person responsible for the blackness smothering your soul — is you!”

Police arrive, and Superman hands over the gunman and tells officers to make sure the victims are “safe and cared for.” An officer responds, “Anything you say, Superman!”

The moment comes just one week after President Donald Trump made the controversial announcement that he was ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy put in place by former President Barack Obama. He then gave Congress a window to save the program.

Still, the decision was decried by politicians, civil groups and celebrities alike. Nearly 800,000 individuals, known as Dreamers, have received protection to stay in the country through the program.

Long-Term Mortgage Delinquencies Seriously Under-Reported

by Mish Shedlock, MishTalk:

Keith Jurow, a real estate analyst and author of the Capital Preservation Real Estate Report, pinged me a few days ago with his analysis that suggests long-term mortgage delinquencies are seriously under-reported.

Hi Mish,

I thought you might be interested in the important clarification I just received from my contact at the NY State Dept. of Financial Services.

A few weeks ago, I sent you the latest update (attached again) of pre-foreclosure notices sent to delinquent homeowners in NYC and LI. I had noticed that 80{5f621241b214ad2ec6cd4f506191303eb2f57539ef282de243c880c2b328a528} were listed as delinquent for less than 60 days. I asked my contact why that percentage was so high when he had been telling me for several years that over 40{5f621241b214ad2ec6cd4f506191303eb2f57539ef282de243c880c2b328a528} of these notices were repeat notices – sent to long-term delinquents.

His response was that for repeat notices, the mortgage servicers often provided the same information as on the original notice. For example, if a repeat notice was sent two years after the initial one, the length of delinquency was not changed from that first one. That was why a second notice where the borrower might be three years delinquent could show a delinquency of 60 days.

This clarification confirmed my belief that many – if not most – of the borrowers were now delinquent for several years.

Tragic Events Prove Not Having This Can Get You And Your Loved Ones Killed – Why ‘Situational Awareness’ Is A Key To Survival, Especially During A ‘Zombie Apocalypse’

by Stefan Stanford, All News Pipeline:

In this new story over at the Daily Mail that Steve Quayle linked to on his website Saturday morning titled “What Would YOU Do In A Zombie Apocalypse?”, they report that most of those living in the UK who took a recent YouGov poll are totally ill-prepared for such a situation unfolding there.

While only 10{5f621241b214ad2ec6cd4f506191303eb2f57539ef282de243c880c2b328a528} of those surveyed claimed ‘they even had a plan’ to deal with such an apocalyptic scenario, what stood out immediately was that the most common strategy (claimed by 45{5f621241b214ad2ec6cd4f506191303eb2f57539ef282de243c880c2b328a528} of those people surveyed) would be to FIND SOMEWHERE TO HIDE! With another 43{5f621241b214ad2ec6cd4f506191303eb2f57539ef282de243c880c2b328a528} claiming their strategy would be to stock up on supplies while 29{5f621241b214ad2ec6cd4f506191303eb2f57539ef282de243c880c2b328a528} would plan on ‘escaping the city’, it’s very easy to see why the UK after a zombie apocalypse could look like the small Caribbean island of Barbuda after Irma, now totally uninhabited, for the first time in 4000 years.

As preppers and those living in Irma and Harvey ravaged areas of Florida and Texas now fully know, attempting to prepare for an apocalyptic scenario AFTER the scenario has arrived is virtually impossible, hence the reason we prepare BEFOREHAND.

And while we agree that in a zombie apocalypse, having a place to ‘hide’ and food and supplies and making sure we’re out of the city are great strategies, they’re also strategies that need to be implemented well ahead of time – not after zombies start munching upon human flesh. As the iconic photograph from the fictional zombie TV show the Walking Dead below shows, those who waited until the last minute to ‘prepare’ by ‘getting out of the city’ quickly turned into ‘zombie food’.

It’s very easy to see why ‘life’ will imitate ‘art’ under many different, very real catastrophic scenarios and why getting out of the cities before everybody else is trying to do so is the best way to ensure our loved ones survival.

It’s long been warned within prepping circles that population density is an absolute key factor to consider in preparing for future survival situations, especially considering how quickly society could break down should our completely electricity dependent society be suddenly cast into a situation where we no longer have electricity.

While the average population density of the US from coast to coast is 80.5 people per square mile, the population density of the Northeast Megalopolis (which encompasses the District of Columbia and part or all of 11 states: from south to north, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine) is 931.3 people per square mile

Thrown into a situation where food and resources are suddenly in very low supply, would you want to be in a location where there are another 930.3 people living in the square mile surrounding you? Fights and chaos breaking out in stores ahead of Harvey and Irma give us a small taste of what could be coming should a worst-case scenario strike America.

And while the DM story discussed a hypothetical zombie apocalypse that will likely never come, as we read in this new story from the Daily Mail and see in the 1st video below, a ‘zombie apocalypse’ is already happening here in America. Proving to us just how important ‘situational awareness’ is as an absolute key to surviving just about anything, we see a man so busy on his cell phone that he neglects to pay attention to the situation surrounding him. As he’s paying attention to texts or whatever is on his phone, he’s attacked by two thugs he very well should have seen coming way before 4 UPS workers arrive to bravely shoo-away the trash who were attempting to rob him.

As the Gardena, California police department wisely posted on their Facebook page, what we see in this video is an important reminder to always pay attention to your surroundings.

On September 7th 2017 at about 2pm, our victim left a bank in Gardena and went to a nearby UPS store located in the 17100 blk of Western. As he walked through the parking lot, two male suspects attacked him from behind. One suspect was armed with a yellow crowbar. The suspects knocked him to the ground, struck him with the crowbar and tried to take his property from him.

Inside N. Korea – How the US Under-Estimates Them – Excellent Russian TV Report

by Charles Bausman, Russia Insider:

“Those who consider North Korea a backward state somewhere far away in the middle of nowhere, make a big mistake.”

Here is an excellent example of how Russian TV news is sometimes head and shoulders above the mainstream in the US and Europe.

To start with, this report is 12 minutes long – almost unheard of in the US, – in Russia it is very common.

This report is chock-full of fascinating insight, with rare footage you would never see in the West.

It interviews four truly top-notch Russian experts who have spent many years inside N. Korea, and know the country well.

These are clearly serious, experienced people well worth listening to, – 12 minutes well-spent.

If you think these articles are valuable, please consider donating to our Fall Fund Drive.  You will not find this remarkable info anywhere else on the internet.

Both videos are from our own Youtube channel

Some interesting points:

  1. The Korean state is 3250 years old.

  2. They had book printing 320 years before Gutenberg.

  3. Luxury jeeps on the streets of Pyongyang suggest the country is not as poor as people say.

  4. Info about and footage of Kim’s pretty, pop-star wife

  5. Russian population centers of Vladivostok and Hassan are a few miles away – if war comes to N. Korea, particularly nuclear war, it will be a disaster for Russia too.

  6. North and South Koreans think of themselves as one nation, one race, and both are fiercely nationalistic and look down on other races. The two countries are much closer emotionally than people in the West realize. Foreigners are enemies in North and South alike.

  7. N. Korea has a complex caste system which is officially supported. It has 51 castes.

  8. N. Korea abandoned Marxism in the 1970s!

  9. Why the energy embargo won’t hurt the North much (they have plenty of coal)

  10. A look inside a typical Korean apartment.

  11. Government decisions are made collectively – it is not an autocracy headed by Kim.

  12. Government and army extremely rational in their behavior.

  13. A very tough, united people prepared to fight for their lives. No 5th column. People trained for nuclear war, not intimidated by it.

  14. N. Korea has diplomatic relations with 161 nations, but not with US.

  15. N. Koreans are ready to fight, and not afraid of war. Impossible to bring this proud people to their knees.

Here’s the full transcript:

And now let’s go back to what was only briefly mentioned earlier— the crisis surrounding North Korea. And, to the sensational words of Putin that, I quote,

“North Koreans will eat grass, but they won’t give up nuclear weapons”.

Putin gives an excellent answer at a recent press conference, demonstrating that he understands Korea much better than the US leadership

However, this is nothing they should be praised for. So, what would a unified and firm response to Pyongyang be, according to France’s young president—Macron? Let’s figure it out.

Fortunately, the missiles of young Marshal Kim Jong-un, as far as we know, aren’t pointed at Russia. But if it all goes wrong on the Korean peninsula, whether the young Marshal attacks the South or the United States starts hunting him, it’ll be bad for us, too.

Vladivostok and the border city of Hassan, located on the Tumen river, is a stone’s throw away. However, at the same time, this proximity allows us to ascertain the mood of North Korea better.

Russia has an embassy there. (the US does not).

From Russia to there, one can take a ferry, a train, and a regular flight. By the way, the Vladivostok-Pyongyang connection is served by a Russian-made aircraft—the Tu-204. There’s one more connection. Our film crew took this flight.

One of my most unexpected impressions is that Pyongyang’s famous traffic police, who, of course, wear the uniform of Stalin’s times, regulate the movement of, as the youth would say, tricked-out jeeps. And, this is in a country which is generally considered to be extremely poor.

Well, it seems that the organization of North Korean society is much more complicated. Now, you will see today’s shots. It’s a familiar picture, of course. Last Saturday, the DPRK celebrated what they call “The Day of the Foundation of the Republic.” Today, we’ll turn to those who weren’t occasional visitors, but saw this all the time, lived there.

In particular, our interlocutor is a Russian doctor, Yuri Belenkov, the personal physician of the founder of the DPRK, Kim Il-sung, the grandfather of the current Marshall—Kim Jong-un.

from Sputnik News:

According to referendum’s official Twitter account, The website for the upcoming referendum on the independence of Catalonia has been visited 708,000 times since the link to it was made public.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The website for the upcoming referendum on the independence of Catalonia, an autonomous region of Spain, has been visited 708,000 times since the link to it was made public, despite government authorities’ blocking attempts, the organizers said Sunday on the referendum’s official Twitter account.

“Despite all the obstacles set by the state, the website has had an estimated 708,000 visits since it was made public,” the message read.

Earlier in the day, an instruction on how to circumvent the block using a proxy server was posted on the Twitter account.

On Wednesday, CDMon, a hosting company, blocked the website based on a court decision. Catalonia’s prosecutors had asked the court to block all websites linked to the referendum, but no final decision has been made on the issue yet.

Nolte: Washington Post Readers Deceived About Religion Writer Sally Quinn’s Occultism

from Breitbart:

Among her elite social circles in Washington, DC, and the Hamptons, Washington Post religion writer Sally Quinn did not keep her use of black magic a secret. In a lengthy and glowing profile, the Washingtonian reveals that Quinn’s fascination and outright use of the dark arts were just another part of her wide and varied social scene.

According to the Washingtonian:

Quinn has consulted psychics for years and, until recently, would conduct readings herself for family and friends.

“She used to take her cards out to the little thatched hut,” recalls writer Leslie Marshall, an ex-wife of Quinn’s stepson Dino Bradlee and one of Sally’s closest friends. “The place has the right ambience for the occult.”

Ouija boards, astrological charts, palm reading, talismans—Quinn embraces it all. And yes, she has been in contact with her husband since his passing. Through a medium. Repeatedly.

Some friends have voiced reservations that Quinn is now showing all her cards, so to speak. “Don’t play up the voodoo too much,” one implored. But Sally does nothing by halves. She reveals that, in her less mellow days, she put hexes on three people who promptly wound up having their lives ruined, or ended.

Quinn’s late husband, former Washington Post executive editor Bill Bradlee, died in 2014. Therefore, the news that Quinn has used the occult to contact his spirit means that while working as a regular and prolific religion columnist for the Post, Quinn was a practitioner of the dark arts. (She started as a young woman).

Bradlee was also a vice president of the Washington Post right up until his death, was well aware of his wife’s practices, and apparently, did nothing during those years she deceived his trusted readers.

Readers were not only not informed of Quinn’s occultism; they were misled and lied to about her beliefs, which she claimed were only that of a curious non-believer.

As an example, in November of 2011, Quinn published a column celebrating the five year anniversary of On Faith, which she co-founded with Jon Meacham, the man most famous for destroying Newsweek. In the column, Quinn described her beliefs and non-beliefs in this way:

Although I called myself an atheist when we started this site, I no longer do[.] … I don’t call myself agnostic. That doesn’t work for me. It simply means you don’t know. By that definition we are all agnostic. The pope is agnostic. We may believe, but we don’t know. I wouldn’t call myself a seeker, either. If I had to define myself, I would say I was a learner. And this has been an extraordinary learning experience.

That is as far as she goes. Quinn says nothing about her decades-long belief in the occult or her occult practices. This is a lie of omission so large it is beyond description. Regardless, it is still a lie.

Thanks to her just-released memoir, however, we now know the truth, that far from being an agnostic, Quinn was not only a true believer in the occult, black magic, and voodoo, she practiced these dark arts in the most wicked ways imaginable.

In fact, Quinn believes in the dark arts to a point where is certain she possesses the ability to murder people through the power of a hex, and on three occasions, with murder in her heart, she used that power. In her own mind, she is responsible for the deaths of three people whose only sin was offending her in some way.

This demonic woman was/is a high-profile religion writer for the Washington Post, everyone in D.C. knew this, and no one thought the readers should.

Gee, I wonder why?

Denies claim that he is considering staying in

Donald Trump is still planning to pull out of the Paris climate change agreement unless the UN can offer ‘better terms,’ despite claims to the contrary, the White House has said.

Two members of a recent international meeting said that a White House representative had said the US would maintain the accord, The Wall Street Journalreported earlier on Saturday.

But the White House says that’s nonsense – and that Trump is still planning his climate exit unless he gets the changes he wants.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the initial remarks about Trump reversing his decision to pull out of the agreement were made at an international meeting in Montreal.

That meeting had seen ministers from 30 countries, including Canada and Britain, discussing US climate-change goals with White House senior adviser Everett Eissenstat.
