Stocks and Precious Metals Charts – Standing Before the Nation With Judgement

0

from http://jessescrossroadscafe.blogspot.com:

“And they healed the pain of my people disgracefully, saying ‘peace and prosperity,’ when there was no peace or prosperity.”

Jeremiah 6:12

“Easy is the descent into hell;
The door to death and darkness stands open, day and night.
But to retrace one’s steps, to return once more
to the pure clean air, and cheerfulness and life:
That is our task, that is our true labour.”

Vergil, Aeneid

The Non-Farm Payrolls came in ‘better than expected,’ as long as one did not look too closely, and not distinguish between low-paying, part time jobs versus jobs that carry a living wage that would enable further economic expansion.

Judgement and justice are long overdue—  but they are coming.

Savage: Civil War If Trump Taken Down

1

by Kit Daniels | Infowars.com:

Millions of Americans will revolt if the globalists remove President Trump from office or render him powerless, radio host Michael Savage warned.

Americans could even “resort to mob violence” because they’ll have nothing to lose once they “are finally aware of the fact that they’ve been tricked by their society, and that no matter how hard they work as middle-class people” they have nothing to gain, the Savage Nation host said Friday.

“That is what’s going to happen in this country,” he pointed out. “You have not yet seen mob violence in this country. You’ve seen some mob violence instigated by George Soros’ mobs.”

“But you haven’t seen the thing I’m telling you is coming in this country. You haven’t seen the ‘Day of the Locust’ yet.”

Savage was referring to the 1939 novel The Day of the Locust, which analyzes the violent rage of Americans who slaved away their entire lives only to realize that the American dream was impossible for them to achieve.

“When Eddie finally gets up and says that’s the end of the road, and Eddie’s eyes turn red, and blood is in his eyes, Eddie will turn this society upside down,” the Savage Nation host said. “And if [the left] take(s) Trump down, through Mueller or through any other source and deny Eddie his vote, there will be a civil war in this country.”

“I’m warning you. All of you leftists who think you’re going to steal our vote, you’re wrong.”

“…But if you do the next step and steal our president, I warn you. You’ve seen nothing yet,” he added. “You will see the ‘Day of the Locust’ in this country.”

Pence denies eyeing presidential bid amid distance with Trump over Russia

0

by Susan Cornwell, yahoo.com:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday denied that he is preparing for a presidential election run in 2020, saying the suggestion is “disgraceful and offensive.”

Pence was responding to a New York Times report that some Republicans were moving to form a “shadow campaign” as though President Donald Trump were not involved. It said multiple advisers to Pence “have already intimated to party donors that he would plan to run if Mr. Trump did not.”

The report said Pence had not only kept a full political calendar but also had created his own independent power base, including a political fund-raising group called the “Great America Committee.”

But Pence called the article “fake news” and said his entire team was focused on advancing Trump’s agenda and seeing him re-elected in 2020.

“The allegations in this article are categorically false and represent just the latest attempt by the media to divide this Administration,” Pence said in a statement.

The Times stood by its coverage. “We are confident in the accuracy of our reporting and will let the story speak for itself,” New York Times spokeswoman Danielle Rhoades Ha said in an email.

Pence has good relations with conservative political groups and some of the Republican Party’s big donors, including billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch.

He is also a Trump loyalist, and there is typically little distinction between his public statements and the policies of the president.

But as investigations deepen into Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. election and possible ties to members of Trump’s campaign, Pence has put some distance between himself and the president on the best way to approach Moscow.

On a trip to Eastern Europe last week, Pence condemned Russia’s presence in the former Soviet republic of Georgia, with which Moscow fought a brief war in 2008. He also said ties with Russia would not improve until Moscow changed its stance on Ukraine and withdrew support for countries like Iran, Syria and North Korea.

The U.S. Congress recently passed a bill imposing new sanctions on Russia with overwhelming bipartisan support, but Trump signed it into law last week with reluctance.

“Our relationship with Russia is at an all-time & very dangerous low,” Trump wrote on Twitter after signing the bill. “You can thank Congress.”

Trump has described probes into his campaign’s ties to Russia, including those under way in Congress and a Justice Department investigation headed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, as a “witch hunt.”

Doctors: Maybe You Shouldn’t Finish that Course of Antibiotics After All

0

by Julie Fidler , http://naturalsociety.com:

All your life, you’ve been told to finish a course of antibiotics, even if you’re feeling better. But now that antibiotic resistance has become such a serious problem, some British doctors are questioning whether that advice is doing more harm than good. [1]

Health experts from Brighton and Sussex Medical School, the University of Oxford, and other institutions write in an analysis in the BMJ that there is no evidence to support the notion that cutting short a course of antibiotics encourages drug resistance. In fact, they said, it’s taking more antibiotics than needed that leads to resistance.

According to the doctors, the belief that not finishing antibiotics leads to resistance “can be traced back to the dawn of the antibiotic era.” Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin, spoke in 1945 about a man who didn’t take enough of the antibiotic and passed a now-resistant form of strep throat on to his wife, who died from the infection.

Read: The Problem of Antibiotic Resistance is Getting Much Worse

Fleming said at the time:

“If you use penicillin, use enough!”

However, as the doctors note in their analysis, Streptococcus bacteria has never been shown to develop resistance to penicillin. Furthermore, other early observations have yet to be proven by modern research.

Tim Peto, professor of medicine at the University of Oxford and a co-author of the article, said:

“No one has questioned (this advice) for all this time. In the scientific world, it’s an accepted view that there is too much usage of antibiotics and we want to minimize that. We want to only give them to people who need antibiotics to get better.” [2]

What has been proven, according to the authors of the opinion piece, is that taking antibiotics unnecessarily contributes to drug-resistance. And that’s whether you take them when they’re not needed – such as when you have a viral illness – or if you continue taking them after you feel better. [1]

Teenager’s discovery of Roman treasure trove delights experts

0

from Foxnews:

A stunning hoard of ancient silver, believed to have been used as bribes by Romans, was found with a metal detector by a teenager in Scotland.

The silver fragments were found in Dairsie, in the Scottish region of Fife, by David Hall in 2014. Hall was just 14 years old at the time of the find. In October, the trove will go on show for the first time at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Over 200 silver fragments were unearthed on the day of Hall’s find and another 200 fragments were subsequently found at the Dairsie site.

RARE ROMAN COIN DISCOVERED ON REMOTE SCOTTISH ISLAND

The silver fragments, which date from the late 3rd century A.D., are known as “hacksilver” because they were hacked from larger objects and converted into a form of raw silver bullion. The discovery is particularly noteworthy given Dairsie’s location beyond the Northern frontier of the ancient Roman Empire.

How a Dog Named Brutus Was Used to Steal $36,000

0

by Garrett Kehr , thedailybell:

For the egregious crime of being in the right lane at the wrong time, a driver was pulled over in Lowndes County, Georgia. Thanks to the heroic efforts of one Georgia State Police dog, and his faithful officer, a major threat to the people of Georgia is off the streets.

The responding police dog, Brutus, made a major bust. The vehicle was transporting $36,000 of cash; an imminent danger to Georgians across the state.

The cash may have eluded officers if not for the quick thinking of Brutus. He sat down next to the car to let officers know the money was being stored in a speaker inside the vehicle. The officer was quick to confiscate the cash, take a picture of it for social media, and let the driver go.

Wait, the police let the driver get away? Yes, they did. The driver was not charged an actual crime, and no one was arrested during the “major bust” that took place. The driver’s only crime was carrying cash.

Under Georgia’s criminal code officers can take property from any citizen they suspect may be part of a criminal enterprise. In this case, the only hunch officers had of criminal activity was Brutus the dog taking a seat.

The police took more than half of the state’s median yearly income from someone because a dog sat next to their car. If you think this is a horrific injustice, you should feel relieved to know the overwhelming majority of Americans agree with you.

Civil asset forfeiture is the formal name for this form of state sanctioned theft. It has become a hot topic in the last few years for Americans concerned about their fundamental rights. The practice is troublingly common among law enforcement agencies at all levels of government.

Its history of abuse has resulted in BILLIONS of dollars taken from Americans who were never charged with a crime. While marginalized groups are the most likely victims, anyone can be targeted. From entrepreneurs and small business owners to Christian music groups, law enforcement agencies only see dollar signs.

A growing number of states have implemented forfeiture reforms aimed at holding police agencies accountable. They aim to protect citizen’s right to due process supposedly guaranteed by the Constitution. Unfortunately for this driver, and the rest of the country, state laws may soon be futile. Attorney General Jeff Sessions recently announced a federal policy to ignore state statutes prohibiting civil asset forfeiture.

To be clear, the Attorney General is the top official appointed to keep the rule of law alive in America. Instead, he is encouraging law enforcement agencies to seize property from law-abiding citizens. We’re supposed to be assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Sessions’ reversal of justice reform raises serious civil rights concerns.

The government can take your money simply because a dog gets tired of standing. But you may find it a relief that some elected officials are making it a priority to end this archaic and evil practice once and for all. States may lead the way, but Jeff Sessions’ actions make it clear that there needs to be real reform at the federal level.

In reality, impactful reforms are nowhere near the horizon. If you are concerned with protecting your assets from government seizures you are best taking matters into your own hands. Of course, the state doesn’t make that easy.

Officials have gone out of their way to ensure any legal protections you thought you had go out the window when stopped by police on the road. As the example in Georgia shows, the victim looked to store his money in a speaker system to keep it out of plain sight. But Brutus made short work of that tactic.

Silicon Valley “Outraged” After Google Employee Pens Viral Doc Slamming “Anti-Conservative” Culture

0

from Zero Hedge.com:

A 10-page document penned by an unnamed Google engineer titled “Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber“, that criticizes the company’s “left leaning”, “anti-conservative” culture and calls for replacing Google’s diversity initiatives with policies that encourage “ideological diversity” instead, has led to outrage among fellow Google employees and Silicon Valley pundits. The document, first reported by Motherboard and published in full by Gizmodo, reportedly has gone “internally viral” inside the company on Friday according to CNBC. The engineer’s identity has not been revealed, but he reports to Google VP Ari Balogh, listed on Crunchbase as the company’s executive VP of storage infrastructure products.

The document’s author also wrote that employees with conservative political beliefs are discriminated against at Google and lamented about how “leftist” ideology is harmful. They argue that the company should have a more “open” culture where their viewpoint would be welcomed. The document said that improving racial and gender diversity is less important than making sure conservatives feel comfortable expressing themselves at work.

Motherboard said it had independently confirmed with multiple Google employees that the document is being widely shared among many of the company’s software engineering teams: “If I had to guess, almost every single woman in engineering has seen it,” a current employee told Motherboard. At several points on Friday night, the document was inaccessible because too many people were attempting to view it concurrently.

But what has prompted the ire of both internal and external pundits is the document’s argument that differences in pay between men and women in the technology sector are not entirely related to bias against women, but are partly attributable to biological differences between the genders. It also called on Google to “stop alienating conservatives” and calls into question practices like “unconscious bias” training for committees that promote employees.

The 10-page Google Doc document was met with furious derision from a large majority of employees but Jaana Dogan, a software engineer at Google, tweeted that some people at the company at least partially agreed with the author; one of our sources said the same. While the document itself contains the thoughts of just one Google employee, the context in which they were shared — Silicon Valley has been repeatedly exposed as a place that discriminates against women and people of color — as well as the private and public response from its workforce are important.

“The broader context of this is that this person is perhaps bolder than most of the people at Google who share his viewpoint—of thinking women are less qualified than men—to the point he was willing to publicly argue for it. But there are sadly more people like him,” the employee who described the document’s contents to me said.

Numerous Google employees expressed their outrage about the paper:

In addition to Google workers, Matt Rosoff notes that outside commentators have also criticized the company, among them Slack engineer Erica Joy, whoe previously called attention to alleged unequal pay for women when she worked at Google, and has been an outspoken critic of systematic bias in the tech industry.

The Precious Metals Look Good in the Years Ahead

0

Contributed by Brad Sebion, MoneyandTrading.com, SGTreport.com:

At the moment gold has no defined trend and silver is in a downtrend. All the markets around the world, with the exception of Egypt, are in uptrends. However, there are a lot of reasons to remain bullish on the metals in the years ahead.

The dollar is trading at a fourteen month low, currently priced at 93 on the US dollar index. It is no secret President Trump wants a cheap dollar during his presidency. Mario Draghi and the Bank of Japan are taking the same stance. They will keep money cheap and credit plentiful to keep the markets on course. Current fed policy makes it is highly likely the next rate hike in the US will not happen in the months ahead.

Investors should take notice of the gold and silver commitment of trader’s reports. The commercial banks have the lowest short exposure in some time. What are the chances the metals market gets taken down over a holiday, when the volume is low, and the commercial banks are right there getting rid of their short exposure. Very rarely are they wrong. At the end of March you could see the commercials heavily short the metals and a few weeks later the price of gold was capped at $1290 and silver topped out at $18.50. Today the reverse is happening.

Marin Katusa released a gold tweet towards the end of July. Katusa highlighted the continuing lack of discovery of new deposits. The chart he shared on twitter indicated gold discoveries are down 85{5f621241b214ad2ec6cd4f506191303eb2f57539ef282de243c880c2b328a528} in the past ten years, and gold reserves continue to decrease. Since this is trend remains more buyouts of junior mining companies are imminent. Marin Katusa’s Gold Tweet:

I believe in the future, more profits from the crypto currencies are going to be taken and some of that capital will flow into the precious metals. Companies like Euro Pacific Capital accept bitcoin as payment. Once the transaction is completed, bitcoin is converted into us dollars. Financial technology will continue to improve and more companies will transact in cryptocurrencies, even if they oppose the concept.

Corporate bond debt has reached over 45{5f621241b214ad2ec6cd4f506191303eb2f57539ef282de243c880c2b328a528} of GDP according to Federal Reserve statistics. The same peak levels were reached during the dot com bubble in 2001 and the housing bubble in 2008. Alan Greenspan recently made comments inferring the bond market is where the trouble is. The first sign of bonds rolling over may cause the conservative investor to move in the direction of the precious metals.

Today commodities are trading at a record low levels compared to the S&P 500 according to the GSCI commodity index. Levels this low have only been reached in the early 1970s and in the late 1990s. John Maynard Keynes was correct is saying “Markets can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

If one wants to take a position in the metals market, I would advise to watch the gold miners etf (GDX). In February of 2017 a large amount of volume came into the market and moved the price up quickly. This will happen again. Don’t try to catch the falling knife and try to guess where the bottom is, let the big volume and rising sediment tell you when to buy.

To an extent the markets are rigged. That being said, men can only manipulate markets for so long before the market overwhelms them. History bears this out over and over. If you have exposure to the metals market, stay patient.

CA Gov Brown: Voters ‘Definitely’ Swinging Back ‘Toward a Non-Republican Kind of Future’

2

by Pam Key, Breitbart.com:

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) said voters were “definitely already swinging back toward a non-Republican kind of future.”

Brown said the Democrats had lost recently for a “Number of factors. Certainly, the Republicans had something to do with it. The barrage, the relentless drum beat of opposition that has been well-financed by the Koch brothers, by Republican activists, that’s been relentless. I think the Affordable Care Act was stigmatized. It was very large; it was very new, that became a big problem.”
