Scavenging: It’s Not Just When the SHTF. It’s Already a Way of Life for Many.

by Fabian Ommar, The Organic Prepper:

Here’s a fun fact. Approximately one percent of the urban population in developing countries makes their living from scavenging. And more than 15 million people get their income from waste picking worldwide. Scavenging is a multi-billion dollar industry and a way of living for many, even in wealthy nations.

It’s also one of the oldest economic activities known because living is consuming. Therefore we produce waste simply by existing. The type and amount of waste generated are constantly changing. The more wealthy and urbanized a society becomes, the more waste it will produce. A lot of folks think of scavenging as an activity that only happens after the SHTF, but it’s a way of life for many on the planet.

Stock Up NOW: Panic Buying May Be Just Around The Corner As Covid Cases Smash Through Records [UPDATE: Panic Already Spreading Among Libtards]

by Chris Menahan, Information Liberation:

The covid surge we appear to be facing could be so massive it may shut down the economy for weeks.

While Omicron is not particularly deadly and generally is just a bad cold, it’s spreading at a truly unprecedented rate. The US reportedly just saw 1 million cases in the past two days, the highest spread ever recorded.

Tons of people like myself and most of my family who caught this bug have not gotten tested and will not get tested, so that number is undoubtedly already much higher.

Lessons From An Underground Economy

by J.G. Martinez, The Organic Prepper:

How is it possible to survive a nation with inflation rates of 20%/month and 1700%/year? The answer? The underground economy. This is the level of hyperinflation we have found ourselves with here in Venezuela, and considering the spread of inflation worldwide, it would be well worth the prepper’s time to glean what we can learn here.

Virtually everything you read dictates inflation on this scale necessitates civil war.

Yet Venezuela hasn’t seen this. Why not? Why are the streets not being taken by armed civilians?

Meat Prices are SKYROCKETING. Here’s How to Get Ready.

by Daisy Luther, The Organic Prepper:

I started raising chickens for meat in 2014. I’ve always bought the same feed from the same farmer. Prices have always been about the same. Even when prices on meat were slowly rising in the grocery stores due to Covid issues in the processing plants, my feed supplier’s prices didn’t change much. I process the animals myself so I haven’t had to deal with the labor issues. Chickens from me in 2021 would have cost the same as they had in 2019.

However, yesterday I found out my chicken feed prices will be up almost 20% in 2022. My pig feed will be up 60%. It’s going to be a hell of a jump. The droughts out West have clobbered grain growers. Gas prices are up. Labor costs are up. Some of the minerals have had to be imported and all those prices are up. The gradual increase in prices most of us have been watching are going to take steep upward turn within the next couple months. A lot of people have been saying this is going to happen; you can’t print trillions of dollars, pay people not to work, and expect nothing to happen.

Calories in a Bug-Out Bag: How Many Can You Really Fit?

0

by Aden Tate, The Organic Prepper:

I’ve been thinking a lot about bugging out a lot lately, and on my backpacking trips, it is both food and water that serve as my limiting factors. Without those two variables, I can no longer stay out in the mountains. Within a bug-out situation, you’re going to face the exact same predicament. Your goal here is energy to last longer, so the question is, calories in a bug-out bag: how many can you really fit?

Without food, you starve.

Without water, you dehydrate.

It Just Keeps Getting Worse – Imagine Being Forbidden From Leaving Home To Go Buy Food As Is Already Happening Elsewhere, Sending A Dire Warning To America!

by Susan Duclos, All News Pipeline:

With American companies practicing China-style censorship, social credit scores being rolled out just like in China, and big corporations bending over backwards for China by ignoring humanitarian crises perpetrated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), along with “China Joe” now occupying the White House,  we find it prudent to watch them for situations and actions that  liberal leaders here in America might say “Hey, we LIKE that idea!”

The Criminalization of Preppers in Turkey: Will Our Country Be Next?

by Aden Tate, The Organic Prepper:

History has shown us that collectivism detests the individual. The man who can exist independent of the system, who thinks for himself, who is not easily swayed, and who has values rooted in absolute truth which he refuses to give up – this is the enemy of collectivism.

But if we take a closer look at one aspect of the individual – his ability to exist independent of the system – is it not clear this is an end goal of prepping?

Is that not what a prepper strives for – the ability to exist independent of the world around them so that disaster does not affect them in the way that it affects others?
