An artificially induced Armageddon
Life is never boring in America 2.0. I never run out of things to write and talk about. In fact, there are so many topics to assess critically that I often forget something. I’ll finish writing a Substack post and a pertinent point I neglected to mention will be raised in the comments. Or it will just come to me after the fact.
I’ve been following the saga of Caitlin Clark in the WNBA. The women’s professional basketball league has been a miserable failure by any definition. It’s lost significant money for twenty seven straight years. The only reason anyone is talking about it now is Caitlin Clark. It’s certainly the only reason I’m writing about it. I never thought I’d write about the WNBA. It’s a bogus outfit that has been kept afloat by corporate funding. Much of the miniscule audience they draw comes from the LGBQT+!* community, because a good chunk of the players are openly lesbian. If you’ve watched any WNBA “highlights” over the years, you’ll see that the unskilled level of play is punctuated by rough, illegal contact and fighting. Picture a gay version of roller derby.

A new poll that came out after the sham New York City verdict finds Trump inching up on Joe Biden in notoriously blue Minnesota.
This is amazing if you consider the state’s history. Minnesota hasn’t gone Republican in a presidential election since 1972. If Trump won there it would be historic and cause Democrats to lose it completely.
Perhaps the people of Minneapolis are tired of the rampant crime that has gotten out of control in recent years.

Confirms what Trump long has charged
An explosive video has been posted online in which ex-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi admits “responsibility” for the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
That was when tens of thousands attended a rally held by President Donald Trump, and then a few hundreds or thousands went to the Capitol, and some of them rioted, breaking some windows and otherwise vandalizing the building. They were protesting what they perceived as Joe Biden’s “stealing” of the 2020 election.

The Supreme Court ruled against corrupt New York state officials who used bribes and implied threats to stop NY financial organizations from doing business with the National Rifle Association, just as corrupt federal officials coerced and bribed social media to shut down all challenges to official narratives.
The US Supreme Court’s decision, a 9-0 decision, is expertly described here: https://www.theepochtimes.com/epochtv/supreme-court-rules-9-0-in-favor-of-nra-facts-matter-5660560?utm_source=Enews&utm_campaign=etv1-2024-06-09&utm_medium=email&utm_content=upvideo&est=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAceE5JjMFys3H%2BbdAvW

Gold has been the headline performer in the first half of the year – breaking records and commanding attention. But in the second half of 2024, silver may be set to steal the show.
Silver has been quietly outperforming gold since February. Silver prices surged to an 11-year high last month.
The junior monetary metal still has a long way to go in order to reach a new all-time high above $49 an ounce. Even if it doesn’t achieve that feat in 2024, it could still set a new record for a year-end closing price.
by Robert Lambourne, Gold Seek:
Gold swaps undertaken by the Bank for International Settlements, the central bank of the world’s central banks, rose by a substantial 31 tonnes in May over the 78 tonnes reported in April, reaching 109 tonnes, an increase of 40%.
The bank’s statement of account of May, from which the gold swaps can be estimated, was published last week:
https://www.bis.org/banking/balsheet/statofacc240531.pdf
Table 1 below sets out the historical level of monthly gold swaps estimated since August 2018. There is still a considerable level of gold being traded via these swaps. The swaps are down sharply from the 501 tonnes estimated in January 2022 but they seem to remain quite volatile, suggesting that they are being used to cover short-term trading requirements by central banks and bullion banks.
