MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – The Cuban government has made an official request to join the BRICS bloc as a partner country in a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, since Moscow currently chairs the association, Carlos Pereira, the director general of bilateral affairs of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, said.
“Cuba has officially requested to be included in BRICS as a ‘partner country’ in a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is the interim chairman of the association, which is strengthening its position as a key player in global geopolitics and the hope of the Global South,” Pereira said on X.

The promotion suggests some in the White House are eager to replace Karine Jean-Pierre as press secretary.
The press, which widely criticized Jean-Pierre as a poor communicator, reported last year that White House aides failed in a purported attempt to boot Jean-Pierre from the position in light of what some consider her poor job performance. She is the first black woman and the first openly gay person to hold the title of press secretary.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, at least 11 people were killed and 17 others injured by Israeli strikes on Sunday.

Homeschooling Numbers Continue To Climb After COVID-19 Pandemic: Report

New data from the Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy’s homeschool research lab show that 90 percent of states reporting data saw an increase in homeschooling in the 2023–2024 school year.
The report examined data from 21 out of 30 states that collect or report homeschool participation information. The other nine states are expected to report data in the coming months.
The 19 states that experienced growth were Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

New German Study: All COVID mRNA Vaccinated Children Are at Increased Risk of Cancer

A German peer-reviewed study has found that children who received two doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 mRNA vaccine had immune system damage one year after vaccination, and an elevated risk of developing cancer during their lifetime.
A team of German researchers, led by Dr. Robin Kobbe from the Institute for Infection Research and Vaccine Development at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, analyzed blood samples from 14 healthy children aged 5-11.
The study tracked their immune responses from the day they received the first dose of Pfizer’s vaccine, one month after, and again one year following the second dose.
