The Russian Federation conducted an impressive presidential election with civility and efficiency despite a concerted attempt by the Western powers to sabotage it.
A nation of 143 million people and 112 million voters covering a vast geographic territory encompassing 11 time zones (out of the Earth’s total of 24 zones) went to the polls over a three-day period (March 15-17) to facilitate democratic participation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was re-elected from four candidates, winning 88 percent of the vote. It was the Russian Federation’s seventh presidential election as a modern state formed after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Putin wins a sixth term in office which will take him to 2030 as the head of the Russian state.

Junk Bond Default Surge Continues in 2024

Consumers aren’t the only ones defaulting on their debts: Corporate bond defaults were up massively in 2023, especially for high-risk junk debt, and the trend is continuing this year at a pace not seen since the 2008 global financial crisis. Unsurprisingly, companies selling low-rated junk debt are being hit the worst.
Last year, according to S&P Global Ratings, corporate bond defaults increased by a disconcerting 80%. High interest rates coupled with high inflation have made it a struggle for companies to make good on their commitments even as waves of new bond buyers continue to arrive, eager to lock in higher yields before rates go down. Demand remains strong for junk bonds and hybrid debt, but for companies with poor liquidity, poor to negative cash flow, and/or an outsized existing debt burden, the result is a compelling setup for even more defaults in 2024.

Joe Rogan slammed the indictments of Trump during a recent episode of his podcast, calling it the stuff of banana republics.
In his criticisms, he singled out Letitia James and Fani Willis, questioning what their real motivations are and suggesting that this looks like nothing more than the targeting of political opponents, which is exactly what it is, of course.
This is notable because if Joe Rogan is asking these questions, millions of Americans are thinking the same thing, and not just Trump supporters.
