Just as the week of American Independence Day started, the Chinese in Hong Kong celebrated the blessings of 20 years of real independence from the British Empire.
During those 20 years since the British reluctantly relinquished Hong Kong, it has become merely obvious to say, that China has made the most astonishing progress of any nation, by adopting the credit, infrastructure and productivity policies which once were called “the American System of economy.”
Now it is exporting that tremendous progress through the great projects of the Belt and Road Initiative, the “New Silk Road.”

Individualism, it seems, means not the making of one’s own way but the demanding of sacrifices by others to maintain one’s own lifestyle.
What is visible on July 4th is the overwhelming consumerism of an American holiday: the over-hyped sales campaigns, the over-indulgences of the table, and the obligatory displays of fireworks. But beneath this celebratory surface run questions about American identity and the state of grace of the American soul.
There is a darkness in that soul, the poisonous darkness of greed, complacency and hubris. Individualism, it seems, means not the making of one’s own way but the demanding of sacrifices by others to maintain one’s own lifestyle: the sacrifices laid on the next generations to pay our lavish medical and retirement benefits, and the sacrificing of the planet to supply us with cheap energy, particle-board furniture and all the other gimcracks which are piled up in countless garages and storage facilities across the overstuffed suburbs of America.

Today I’m going to show you how to build a strong offense.
Once you have a strong defense that protects everything you have, a good offense positions you for gain.
It helps you move the ball down the field, grow your wealth and achieve exceptional investment returns… all while taking minimal risk.
Step #1: Invest outside of the mainstream
When I say outside the mainstream, I don’t mean weird or highly risky. I mean beyond conventional wisdom… in other words, beyond stocks and bonds.

A new European nation between Spain and France?
Catalonia, a region of northeastern Spain, will declare immediate independence if voters approve a referendum in October.
The autonomous area best known for the city of Barcelona is controlled by those seeking to forge a new nation separate from Spain.
“If the majority of votes are for creating a Catalan republic, obviously independence will have to be declared immediately,” said Gabriela Serra, a member of the independence coalition governing Catalonia.
