Texas Judge Rules Obamacare Unconstitutional

by Sean Moran, Breitbart:

A Texas federal judge on Friday ruled that Obamacare violated the Constitution, likely pushing the ruling towards the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Judge Reed O’Connor, a U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Texas appointed by former President George W. Bush, ruled that Obamacare violated the Constitution.

Twenty Republican state attorneys general brought the suit, Texas v. Azar, who asked the court to rule that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) violates the Constitution after Republicans managed to zero out Obamacare’s individual mandate penalty with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act last year. The judge ruled that the law’s individual mandate violates the Constitution and therefore the entire ACA violates the Constitution.

The One Technology That Will Rewrite Medicine

by Addison Wiggin, Daily Reckoning:

As co-founder of The Daily Reckoning, I wanted to take the reins today… to extend you a Merry Christmas… and a happy New Year.

And to thank you for sticking with us as we close out yet another year of daily reckonings.

The Daily Reckoning has reached millions of readers… inspired thousands more… and became the nucleus of a world-spanning company that now sports offices in nearly two dozen countries.

2018 will be our 19th year covering the crazy worlds of markets, politics and everything in between… in short, that bizarre creature known as man.

All great drama is derived from the passions of men (and women) and how they interact with one another. Fear, greed, mob mentality and insanity are just a few of the fascinating human emotions we discuss around here.

Today, I want to discuss another subject we watch closely here at our Baltimore HQ:

The race between the innovator and the bureaucrat…

“I get up in the morning,” our friend Juan Enriquez told us during an interview one day late in 2011, “I read the paper and see all the bad things going on with the debt, deficits, wars and the economy. Then I step into a lab and see all the potential breakthroughs the scientists I work with are about to unveil.”

We first met Juan while studying government debt (of course, what else?) and financing of breakthrough technologies. We were fascinated by the story of two guys who lined up the private funds to map the human genome, pitting their project against a litany of governments, university and private endowments who’d secured billions of dollars in grants over a 20-year period to do the same.

Juan Enriquez and the now-renowned entrepreneur Craig Venter were those two guys. Their project, based not far from our office here in Maryland, mapped the first strand of human DNA not in 20 years… but in less than 20 months.

For good measure, Enriquez and Venter mapped the second strand of human genome roughly six months later. Oh, how the government grant writers, university science chairs and “nonprofit” endowment do-gooders were miffed!

Many a cushy, tenured career path was upset, derailed and overturned by two relatively unassuming ne’er-do-wells… who had the gumption to think entrepreneurs have a role in science.

Enriquez’s greatest fear at the time was that the political world would overwhelm the entrepreneurs — and the financial markets they depend on — before their discoveries could get put to good use.

In fact, Juan’s bipolar view — debt, deficits and war versus inspiration, innovation and achievement — inspired the theme of our 2013 Agora Financial Investment Symposium in Vancouver: “A Tale of Two Americas.”

“When you look at the world,” a symposium regular said at the time, expressing a similar sentiment:

Federal Judge Bans Healthy Children from School for Being Unvaccinated

by Matt Agorist, The Free Thought Project:

Entirely healthy children have been banned from school and treated like modern day lepers because they are unvaccinated.

Despite being entirely healthy, a federal judge handed down a decision this week that denied healthy children entry into school based on the sole factor of being unvaccinated. The judge cited an “unprecedented measles outbreak” for his decision to ban unvaccinated children from school.

Pecans are delicious, nutrient-packed powerhouses that reduce the risk of certain cancers

by Zoey Sky, Natural News:

(Natural News) Pecans (Carya illinoinensis) are delicious nuts that have a chock-full of nutrients. They can be eaten as a handy snack, or they can be used as an ingredient for various sweet and savory dishes. But did you know that pecans also offer several health benefits, such as boosting your heart health and immunity?

Why should I eat pecans?

Pecans, while considered “culinary nuts,” are actually drupes. A drupe is a fruit that has a hard shell with a seed inside that is surrounded by the fleshy part of the fruit. Aside from pecans, cherries, peaches, and plums are also considered drupes. However, unlike culinary nuts, these three fruits have a fleshy outside layer.

by Joseph P. Farrell, Giza Death Star:

High octane speculation or no high octane speculation, this one definitely has the foul odor of “disaster crapitalism”, a.k.a. “disaster capitalism.” In this case, the disaster crapitalism may have backfired however, but we’ll get back to that. First, just in case there are any new readers here unfamiliar with our “memes,” a definition of “disaster capitalism” and an explanation of how “capitalism” became “crapitalism” is in order. And just so we’re clear right up front, I am not a socialist of any order or degree. I believe in private property, entrepreneurship, competition… you know, the usual mantra of things a “capitalist” should believe in. But I don’t believe in is what Catherine Fitts has called “disaster capitalism.” Disaster capitalism presupposes (1) that certain people have developed very exotic technologies, that can manipulate weather, or via a variety of exotic means to start fires, steer (or even start) hurricanes and tornadoes, and so on, (2) that these people use this technology covertly to create widespread disasters, such as hurricane Katrina or the California fires in order to drive people out of their homes and land, so that they can  buy their land on the cheap. Disaster capitalists practice these activities by hiding their deliberate acts behind events that most people would consider to be “acts of God,” since most people are unaware of the large amount of evidence pointing to the existence of such technologies and capabilities.

Type 2 diabetes REVERSED in 40 percent of patients… could have doubled if they used superfoods and vitamin D

by Earl Garcia, Natural News:

Intensive medical treatment with oral drugs, insulin and lifestyle therapies may help reverse Type 2 diabetes, a Canadian study shows.

Researchers at McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences in Ontario examined 83 patients with Type 2 diabetes and stratified them into three groups. Two groups received intensive metabolic intervention that featured a personalized workout plan and a suggested meal plan designed to cut their daily calorie intake by 500 to 750 calories a day.

Socialized Healthcare Debacle: RECORD LONG Hospital Waiting Times

by Mac Slavo, SHTF Plan:

NHS (National Health Services) leaders, those in charge of the United Kingdom’s socialized healthcare, have said that hospital wait times have reached record lengths. Waiting times at A&E departments in England last month were at their worst levels since records began, despite pressures from flu and bad weather so far this winter being significantly lower than in 2018.

“An Estimated 150-200 Million Pigs” Have Been Hit By A Global Plague Of Biblical Proportions

by Michael Snyder, The Economic Collapse Blog:

African Swine Fever is the greatest threat to global food production that we have seen since World War II ended.  As you will see below, the disease has now spread “to every province in mainland China”, and it has now infected “an estimated 150-200 million pigs”.  To put that number in perspective, that is more pigs than the entire U.S. pork industry produces in an entire year.  In other words, the equivalent of the entire U.S. pork industry has just been wiped out.  On top of that, African Swine Fever has also spread to Cambodia, Tibet, Romania, South Africa and Vietnam.  The losses are staggering, and this crisis continues to get worse with each passing week.

California’s New Governor Calls for a Tax on Drinking Water

by Carey Wedler, The Anti Media:

Communities throughout the state struggle with dangerous pollutants in their supply, but opponents of the suggested tax say there is no need to tax residents in order to solve the problem.

(FEE— California’s new governor has wasted little time continuing the state’s seemingly limitless expansion of government. Governor Gavin Newsom’s first budget proposal, published last week, suggests instituting a tax on drinking water in the name of cleaning up California’s water systems.

My 400 Days Without Candy & What I Learned About Sugar Addiction

by Arjun Walia, Collective Evolution:

At the end of 2017 I decided to temporarily say goodbye to my dietary Achilles heel.

While I’m certainly not suggesting that I am some beacon of ideal healthy eating, I have always been someone who, for the most part, makes what I’ve found to be healthy choices. Except for my one glaring weakness… candy.

In particular, the really sour and heavily sugar coated kind, but you’d be hard pressed to find me turning down even those better classified as sweet, with all of their sugar fused within the confines of the chew. Cherry Blasters, Sour Patch Kids, Fuzzy Peaches, Sour Punch Straws, you name it, I ate it, and usually with a big smile on my face.

UN Admits: Bill Clinton-Run Haiti Mission ‘Played Role’ in Cholera Outbreak

by Samuel Maxime, Breitbart:

On August 17, 2016 the United Nations did something it had not been willing to do for six years: it admitted a role in the 2010 cholera outbreak that has since killed nearly 10,000 and infected hundreds of thousands.

“Over the past year, the U.N. has become convinced that it needs to do much more regarding its own involvement in the initial outbreak and the suffering of those affected by cholera,” UN secretary general deputy spokesman Farhan Haq said, the New York Timesreports.

Still, the global organization appears to be fighting any possibility of paying damages and, just as alarming to observers, the Obama administration has remained silent on the matter.

Bill Clinton was head of the United Nations mission to Haiti at the time and managing billions in earthquake reconstruction money when, in October of 2010, a base of soldiers from Nepal began dumping septic waste into the country’s main river. The Artibonite River, located in the town of Mirebalais, is the island of Hispaniola’s longest and most important river. Located in the heart of island, the contaminated water ran through other rivers, creating a stream of death through Haiti’s waterways.

Cholera is a water-borne disease that thrives in wet atmospheres and had not been previously present in Haitian. It is a disease which causes vomiting and diarrhea until the infected person becomes dehydrated and dies. The virulence of this particular South Asian strain in Haiti gives an untreated infected person usually about 24 hours before death.

The outbreak triggered massive protests across Haiti, accusing the UN of contaminating the water and bringing the never-before-seen epidemic to the country.

Over the years, dozens of investigations and reports – from universities such as Harvardand Yale, from organizations such as the U.S. CDC and Doctors Without Borders – have corroborated the Haitians’ claim of UN responsibility.

The Obama administration, which had taken the lead over the global Haiti earthquake reconstruction, taking place 35 miles south of Mirebalais in Port-au-Prince, has been conspicuously silent on the debate over responsibility.

Former President Bill Clinton, while still head of the mission in Haiti, did, in 2012, admit the UN’s role in the epidemic. He was pressed by Ansel Hertz, an independent and freelance videographer, as he was touring a hospital in Haiti. Clinton said, “I don’t know that the person who introduced cholera in Haiti, the U.N. peacekeeper, or [U.N.] soldier from South Asia, was aware that he was carrying the virus.” Clinton added that “it was the proximate cause of cholera. That is, he was carrying the cholera strain. It came from his waste stream into the waterways of Haiti, into the bodies of Haitians.”

The admission by Clinton would be downplayed by a U.N. spokeswoman later that day. Spokesperson Kieran Dwyer said, “In relation to former President Clinton’s reported remarks to the press this week in Haiti, we note that he emphasized the importance of focusing on improving Haiti’s sanitation system and the fact that the United Nations and others are working hard to do this.”

The Clinton Global Initiative made a substantial commitment by 2013 to build Haiti’s first Permanent Diarrhea Training and Treatment Center. The multi-million-dollar project is a Clinton Foundation in Haiti “long-termism” initiative. Because vibrio cholerae has the ability to live in water, it is a disease that does not go away. It resurges and kills dozens until an aggressive response, usually funded by foreign aid and charities, is undertaken. But as soon as the response ends, cholera resurges with more aggression and more resilience.

In order to eradicate cholera in Haiti, Haiti would have to build a modern plumbing and sewage infrastructure in all populated areas. The country would have to solve a crisis of access to clean water, too. Only one out of five in Haiti have access to a sanitary toilet, most use latrines or some form of outhouse for their waste, and two out of five are without access to clean water.
