NBC and MSNBC Blamed Russia for Using “Sophisticated Microwaves” to Cause “Brain Injuries” in U.S. “Diplomats” in Cuba. The Culprits Were Likely Crickets.

by Glenn Greenwald, The Intercept:

NBC NEWS AND MSNBC SPECIALIZE in repeating and disseminating what U.S intelligence officials tell them to say and then calling that servitude “reporting.” Those two networks really are the all-but-official outlets for CIA messaging. And this status has led their brightest on-air stars to broadcast a series of extremely consequential stories that turned out to be humiliatingly wrong.

This stenographic and highly jingoistic practice of mindlessly reciting the whispered claims of anonymous “intelligence officials” is what notoriously led the New York Times and other leading U.S. media outlets to deceive the country into believing Dick Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz’s fairy tales about Iraqi WMDs and Jeffrey Goldberg’s tales about Saddam’s alliance with Al Qaeda.

March 5th Congressional Hearing Makes It Clear that All Dissenters Are Simply “Misinformed”: RAISE YOUR VOICE

by Sayer Ji, Green Med Info:

It is clear from the questions asked and the testimony given during today’s hearing that the federal government is actively engaged in creating vaccine mandates for the pediatric and adult population.

Today during The HELP Committee (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions) hearing on “Vaccines Save Lives: What is Driving Preventable Disease Outbreaks?” we heard unanimous and unchecked testimony from U.S. Senators, state health department officials, doctors, businessmen and an 18-year old high school student that vaccines are safe, vaccines save lives, vaccines do not cause autism, and that all else is misinformation.  Yes, that’s right, everyone with a voice in the Senate hearing unapologetically believes that the vaccine safety issue, unlike any other issue known to man, has one side and one side only.

Customize your own protein shakes to fit your particular health needs

0

by Janine Acero, Natural News:

Fuel is an important part of any training and exercise, and protein shakes have become increasingly prevalent as fuel sources for athletes, or just about anyone with fitness routines. In addition, there are protein shakes specifically tailored to provide nutrients for body recovery after strenuous activities. Training and exercise are highly individual in nature; making your own protein shakes is a great way to ensure you get the most out of the nutritional benefits that match your personal needs.

Check out some of these cost-effective alternatives and additions to your usual protein shake. Whip up your own protein shake according to your body’s needs; whether for training fuel or post-workout recovery:

  • Coconut oil – One teaspoon of coconut oil contains 39 calories, while one tablespoon has 117 calories. Coconut oil has an abundance of medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs) which enables it to boost metabolism.
  • Dairy milk substitutes – Non-dairy milk alternatives such as almond, hazelnut or coconut-based milk generally contain higher levels of protein and lower sugar levels than dairy milk. These milk alternatives are also rich in calcium and vitamins. For those without an allergy, nut milk is an excellent option for training athletes. Meanwhile, peri and post-menopausal would benefit from the hormone-boosting qualities of soya milk, only in moderation. Unsweetened dairy milk alternatives are particularly good for those seeking a low-carbohydrate content, while those seeking an energy boost may choose the sweetened versions. Goat’s milk protein is also a good milk alternative; most people with lactose intolerance can handle goat’s milk.
  • Egg whites – Eggs are excellent sources of protein. An egg white alone provides 3.6 g of protein, and a cup serving of egg white provides 26 g of protein. Boiled eggs are a convenient, cheap and highly effective snack for adding protein and replenishing energy stores.
  • Hemp – Most protein powders are pure protein, but hemp powders are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids and fiber. Hemp protein also contains all of the essential amino acids, which are necessary for building muscle. (Related: 4 Tasty, Healthy Alternatives to Whey Protein.)
  • Nut butter – Nut butters are one of the best sources of protein and energy. They are excellent ingredients for providing training fuel and replenishing lost energy. Peanut butter has the highest level of protein with eight grams for every two-tablespoon serving, while cashew and walnut butters contain six grams of protein per serving. Almond butter provides four grams of protein.
  • Oats – Oats are a highly nutritious source of fiber, complex carbohydrates, and protein. They contain 17 grams of protein per 100-gram serving, or six grams of protein per half a cup. Oats are a great source of amino acids, which makes them a perfect addition to natural protein shakes.

The addition of blended fruits and vegetables into your protein shake is also a great way to rehydrate lost electrolytes during training and workout naturally. Bananas are an excellent addition for pre-workout energy and replenishing energy stores post-training, due to their high potassium and magnesium content. These are vital electrolyte minerals that are depleted during exercise.

Dates are another highly nutritious option for energy, vitamins, and electrolytes. Like bananas, they are abundant in potassium and magnesium, as well as calcium and iron. Likewise, dark green leafy vegetables and berries are particularly rich in antioxidants, which help the body recover from strenuous physical activities.

It Begins: Detroit Mother Sentenced to Jail for Not Vaccinating Her Son

by Matt Agorist, The Free Thought Project:

Detroit, MI — In a seemingly unprecedented violation of rights, a case out of Detroit, Michigan should worry even the most stringent pro-vaccine advocates. A mother has been sentenced to jail for failing to have her 9-year-old son vaccinated.

While the Free Thought Project has reported on instances of children being denied public services, like school, for not vaccinating their children, the idea that someone is now being thrown in jail for choosing to abstain from vaccination is chilling.

“I would rather sit behind bars standing up for what I believe in, than giving in to something I strongly don’t believe in,” said Rebecca Bredow last week when given the ultimatum—vaccinate your son or go to jail.

On Wednesday, she stood by those words and refused to back down. Judge Karen McDonald then told her she was in violation of the court order to vaccinate her son and she was sentenced to jail.

For refusing to go against her beliefs and vaccinate her son, Bredow will spend the next seven days in a cage.

As the Free Thought Project previously reported, Bredow did not fully abstain from all vaccinations. She is merely choosing to space them out, like lots of parents do.

As WXYZ reports, Rebecca believes in parents having the choice to make the right decision for their children based on the parent’s knowledge of vaccines and the child.

Rebecca told 7 Action News that she and dad made the decision to space out and delay some of their little one’s vaccines.

“It wasn’t until they started grouping them together that I backed off of doing vaccines,” she says.

However, the father, who does not have custody of the children, changed his mind and now wants to vaccinate his children to the fullest extent. Bredow disagrees, but the court has shown that they couldn’t care less about what she thinks—despite Michigan law allowing for vaccine exemption.

Bredow says the court never cared to hear her side of the story, and despite her having custody of the children, the court automatically sided with the father who wants their son vaccinated.

While vaccinating your children is certainly the decision of both parents — the idea of one parent being kidnapped and thrown in a cage for not wanting to vaccinate is the very fabric of tyranny.

“Why automatically side with the father that wants the vaccines? What about my choice as a mother?” says Bredow — and she has a point.

Judge McDonald noted that the boy has two parents and “Dad gets a say.” However, if the roles were reversed, would the father be in a cage right now?

If the court sided with Bredow instead of the father, would the father now be in jail if he vaccinated their child?

Not likely.

“I feel angry. I feel backed into a corner. I feel like my rights as a parent have been taken away,” she said and now she is feeling the wrath of the state.

While there will likely be some folks cheering on the state in this situation, how you feel personally about vaccines should never lead to a loss of freedom. No person should be forced by government regulation or societal pressure to receive any medication or treatment, including vaccines, against his or her will.

A legal challenge against forced vaccination filed in New York City

by Erin Elizabeth, Health Nut News:

On April 15, 2019, a legal challenge was filed in the New York State Trial Court by Robert Krakow, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Patricia Finn against the New York City Department of Health and Human Hygiene for their forced Measles-Mumps-Rubella vaccination. The legal team asked for a temporary restraining order against the mandate that the Judge will likely review and provide an ex parte decision. Children’s Health Defense is supporting these efforts.

New Studies Confirm Dangers of Glyphosate

by F. William Engdahl, New Eastern Outlook:

Since the 1960s uproar over the dangers of widespread agriculture use of the weed killer, DDT, no other herbicide or agriculture chemical has stirred as much widespread opposition as glyphosate. Glyphosate is the main and only publicly disclosed ingredient in the world-leading herbicide, Roundup from Monsanto/Bayer. With fierce opposition from many EU member states, in 2018 owing to a sly maneuver by the former German Minister of Agriculture, the EU Commission ruled to continue allowing the controversial pesticide. Now recent tests have added to the body of evidence that glyphosate is carcinogenic and should be banned immediately.

Ready Nutrition: Power Protein Pancakes – Just Add Water

by Jeremiah Johnson, Ready Nutrition:

Recently Mrs. Johnson went out on a buying mission and obtained something that I find will be excellent to add to the supplies. Kodiak Cakes is a pancake and waffle mix that is manufactured in a plant in Park City, Utah. What’s the big deal on this? First of all, the ingredients are actually good for you: flour of wheat and oats, along with egg whites, wheat protein, sea salt, and honey, for starters. It also has yeast and baking soda.

A box of this stuff will give about 13 servings: each serving is (3) pancakes of 4” in diameter. Here are the stats on a serving of these:

You are being conned: Former Big Food ad exec unveils marketing tricks used by food manufacturers that persuade you to “super-size it”

0

by Frances Bloomfield, Natural News:

Many believe in the saying “bigger is better”, and it’s this adage that has become a common marketing ploy in the food industry. According to former McDonald’s advertising executive Dan Parker, this is but one of many tricks being used to fool people into eating supersized food portions. Another one is to reduce the size of certain foods without changing the price, leading people to view the family-sized versions being better in terms of value.

Speaking to the DailyMail.co.uk, Parker cited two examples that demonstrated these maneuvers. The first was the Mars Galaxy chocolate advert that featured a computer-generated version of British actress Audrey Hepburn. In the commercial, Hepburn chooses to sit at the back seat of a car instead of next to a male admirer so she could consume a large chocolate bar by herself. “This creates the illusion that a 100g or so chocolate bar is a single portion for someone as glamorous, slender and admired as ‘Audrey’,” said Parker.

The second was a Walkers commercial starring Gary Lineker, former English footballer turned sports broadcaster. Lineker is visited at a hospital by his children. He speaks glowingly of various chips found in his large bag of Walkers MixUps, leading his children to incapacitate him further to steal his chips. Parker explained that both of the commercials “promote hefty portion sizes.”

He added that these maneuvers are how food manufacturers are sustaining the obesity epidemic. In fact, in the same article, it’s revealed that single chocolate bar sales in the U.K went down by five percent (approximately 130 million Pound sterling). Consequently, the sales of both 100g chocolate bars and share bags went up by 7.6 percent (420 million Pound sterling) and 2.7 percent (300 million Pound sterling), respectively.

Parker went on further to compare the food industry to Big Tobacco, the largest tobacco industry companies that have since become known for their deceptive advertising. “I think what the food industry does now will define where it lands. If it behaves like tobacco it will end up being treated like tobacco. And I think it is behaving like tobacco,” Parker remarked. (Related: Food industry giants had big hand in writing US dietary guidelines; nutrition experts bewildered by useless advice.)

As such, Parker believes that combating the obesity crisis lies in the regulation of junk food advertising and proper food portioning. In addition to cutting down total food consumption by 10 to 20 percent, people should also reduce their ingestion of unhealthy food by 20 to 30 percent. Never mind the food industry-funded research crowing about how the lack of exercise is responsible for the rising cases of obesity.

“It’s all about deflecting it away from being about what we eat. The very inconvenient truth that nobody wants to talk about is that to resolve the obesity crisis, we need to eat less food. And we need to particularly eat less unhealthy food which generally comes in a packet and has a logo on it and is generally owned by a very large multinational corporation,” he said.

5 Quick Emergency Foods for All Situations

0

by Jeremiah Johnson, Ready Nutrition:

ReadyNutrition Readers, we have been covering a host of different disasters and scenarios for preps.  One thing we have not mentioned is the need for food in these situations that meet the challenge of the disaster.  What are we talking about here?  For starters, we need food that we can bust open and eat immediately…that will give us some kind of energy with nutritional value…but that we can eat without needing to go off somewhere and sit down.  Even more: food that we can eat without taking a break in stride.

This poses the following conditions for the food: it must be pre-cooked or prepared previously so that no heating or preparation is required.  The biggest problem with this is in the winter months, but we’ll address that issue later.  Let’s look at some foods that it would not be an inconvenience to tote around, either on your person or in a small bag or even a briefcase.  Remember, we’re looking for high protein, medium carbs, and low fat.  Here we go:

5 Quick Emergency Foods

  1. Beef Jerky/Smoked, Cured Jerky and meats: In general, you receive a lot with jerky and beef sticks…on average a 1-ounce portion or piece/stick is about 10-12 g of protein. Considering that it keeps for a long time and doesn’t need to be cooked, with just about a quarter of a pound, you are taking in 40-48 g of protein.  This is very good, especially in a high-stress environment where you’re burning up a lot of energy.  Please go back and refer to some of my articles on protein intake and how “cannibalism” (during the catabolic phase) to break down muscle tissue and use it for energy works.
  2. Nuts: Peanuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, and so forth, usually run about 7-8 grams of protein, about the same in carbohydrates, and double the amount in fat. They have a high-fat content; however, nuts are packed with resveratrol, a chemical that is a vasodilator that improves circulation.  In addition, during a disaster, the extra fat content will not be harmful, as it provides satiety (feeling of fullness), as well as giving you some valuable electrolytes, such as sodium and potassium.  These, too are readily available and easily “munched” down on the go.  Dry-roasted, shelled pistachios are a good one with high protein and high Omega’s, as well as the minerals and electrolytes.
  3. Dried Fruits: will give you some simple sugars and carbohydrates for the body. Long-term benefits will be to provide some fiber.  This is very important in a disaster, as peristaltic activity (the activity of the bowels in digestion) tends to slow down and become depressed substantially with stress.  This results in constipation and hardened stools that can cause cramps and discomfort and even lead to a major problem, such as a blockage, as in the condition called obstructed ileus.  Some examples of dried fruits good to pack with you are figs, apricots, raisins, cranberries, and prunes…the latter being the best for prevention of constipation when used in moderate amounts.  Prunes are also extremely high in Potassium, a vital electrolyte.
  4. Fruit/Granola/Power “Bars”: These can be pretty good for quick energy and some carbohydrates and fiber. They are not necessarily high in the protein department, except if they’re specified for such.  Keep in mind: they’re not meant to serve as long-term meal substitutes, but instead are for a quick energy food for convenience.
  5. Protein Powders – Milk and eggs are a few of the first foods to disappear before and following a disaster. We need supplements to make up for the lack of nutrients in our diets and also to “boost” our intake of needed materials.  Nutrients such as amino acids and protein, which I have written extensively about in previous articles. These are critical for our upkeep, and they must be obtained from our food.  A protein powder may or may not (or may partially) provide these amino acids.  Of particular importance are BCAA’s (Branched-Chain Amino Acids), such as L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, and L-Valine.  These guys are very important for tissue repair. Read more on protein powders here.

It is critical to remember that you must drink water if you’re going to eat all these things.  Dried foods (and any food, for that matter) will suck the fluids right out of you if you don’t take in liquid.  These foods just mentioned can come in their own wrappers, or you can buy them in bulk and transfer them to plastic bags to tote with you for when the need arises.  It’s a simple thing to be able to throw them down without any effort, whether you’re in a fighting position overlooking a section of your property or in a pouring rainstorm trudging up a hill.  Apportion them accordingly, and take some of each item for a well-balanced meal that will do in a pinch.

Residents Outraged as DHS Spraying Town With Chemicals—Using Them as Human Guinea Pigs

0

by Jay Syrmopoulos, The Free Thought Project:

Residents of a small Oklahoma town fear they are being used by Homeland Security as test subjects for the chemical/biological warfare testing.

Newkirk, OK – A planned chemical/biological test by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has residents of a small Oklahoma town in fear that they are being used as human guinea pigs, as the federal government prepares to carry out plans for biological testing in the area next month.

DHS announced plans to conduct chemical and biological testing near the border between Kansas and Oklahoma in January and February, and again in June and July, to determine how much protection people would receive from being inside a house or an apartment in the event of a biological terrorist attack, according to a statement on the Homeland Security website.

The DHS press release notes:

The study is part of the Department’s ongoing commitment to preparedness and the shared responsibility of protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure. The purpose of this study is to gather data that enhances our predictive capabilities in the event of a biological agent attack. Specifically, this work will help in predicting the extent to which an intentional release of a biological agent may penetrate single family and multi-family structures. These tests will release inert chemicals and biological materials that will be used to measure the amount of material that penetrates the buildings under varied conditions.

“This helps responders and emergency managers decide how to respond and save lives. It helps in planning for evacuations…and other tactics,” John Verrico, DHS’s science and technology directorate spokesman, said in an email to Newsweek. “It also helps us to understand how materials settle and stick to surfaces.”

Verrico claims that no one has been injured or adversely affected by chemical tests performed by Homeland Security.

Contrary to the assertions of Verrico, area residents dispute that the chemicals are harmless to humans, animals, and the environment, and are working to stop the planned biological/chemical tests.

A resident of a nearby town, Jill Wineinger, collected almost 9,000 signatures on a petition to block the testing after Homeland Security placed a legal notice inviting the public comment about the tests during a 30-day open comment period.

“We just don’t really know or trust that everything that they’re saying is what they’re doing,” Wineinger told Newsweek.

DHS is reportedly reviewing approximately 300 comments received by email from the public before deciding whether to go forward with the testing, according to Verrico.
The chemical agents DHS plans to use in the testing are titanium dioxide, fluorescent brightener, urea, and Dipel, an insecticide.

“I’m really sorry that everyone is so afraid in Newkirk because these are very benign products,” Kitty Cardwell, a professor at Oklahoma State University and director of the National Institute of Microbial Forensics for Food and Agricultural Biosecurity, who has been involved in other Homeland Security projects, told Newsweek.

Use warm water and turmeric to cleanse your body, support digestion

0

by D. Samuelson, Natural News:

The National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) researches a wide range of digestive disorders — chronic constipation, gastrointestinal infections, irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatitis, ulcers, diverticulitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) among others. According to their 2010 data, the NIDDK states that “60 to 70 million people [in the U.S.] are affected by all digestive diseases.”  It’s likely that those 2010 percentages, as well as the population’s discomfort and pain have increased. GERD alone “affects 20% of all Americans,” reports Everydayhealth.com.  Another 700,000 citizens are burdened with ulcerative colitis and “10-15% of the U.S. population suffer from irritable bowel syndrome.”
