In spite of experiencing two Israeli wars on Gaza, I never imagined the horrific scenes coming out of northern Gaza now: Israel is exterminating the population in broad daylight, broadcast for all the world to see.
And no one is doing a damn thing to stop it.
Israel has besieged northern Gaza for weeks, preventing most humanitarian aid from entering, putting the population of 400,000 already starving Palestinian civilians in the north at severe risk of full starvation. The Israeli parliament has voted to ban UNRWA, the United Nations agency for humanitarian aid, which has been the sole lifeline for many Palestinians.

YouTube CEO Neal Mohan has a post up on the company blog just in time to, well in advance, reiterate the giant platform’s policies regarding the upcoming elections.
Even though Mohan’s “letter” is supposed to deal with the “four big bets for 2024,” the bit concerning the elections is of most interest, given the ramifications of YouTube’s previous and continued restrictive approach and unprecedented levels of censorship.

Two members of the Olympic team from the Republic of Congo have disappeared following the closing ceremony of the Paris Games, fueling speculation they may have decided to claim asylum somewhere in Europe.
It was initially believed three of the six Congolese athletes had gone missing after swimmer Aristote Impelenga, judoka Daso Kisoka, and sprinter Dominique Lasconi all failed to appear for the closing ceremonies. However, Kisoka later resurfaced just before the Congolese Olympic team’s flight back to their native country.

The government should restrict “false” information online, even if doing so blocks people from “publishing or accessing information,” 55 percent of Americans said in a large poll released Thursday. Only 42 percent disagreed.
The antipathy to free speech represents a sea change in attitudes in just five years. It is driven by a powerful new hostility to First Amendment rights on the left.

Facebook have been forced to admit that they unquestioningly censored everybody and anybody that the Biden administration ordered them to, according to newly leaked emails.
A leaked email from 2021 written by the company’s president of Global Affairs, Nick Clegg, to colleagues, states: “We were under pressure from the Biden administration and others to do more,” adding “We shouldn’t have done it.”

Free speech may have some value, but whatever value it has it outweighed by the evil of “hate speech.” Almost any group can claim to be victimized by “hate speech,” except for white heterosexual males and Christians, but “hate speech” applies primarily to members of so-called “protected classes.”
