Trial: Facial Recognition Technology To Be Used In UK At Select Self-Checkouts

by Aaron Kesel, Activist Post:

Facial recognition technology will be tested in UK supermarkets for the first time to verify the age of citizens buying alcohol and cigarettes at special self-checkout machines later this year, the Telegraphreported.

The cameras will be used as a means of convenience for UK citizens to purchase the age-restricted items.

The company responsible for the devices according to the Telegraph is a U.S. company NCR which makes self-checkout machines for Asda, Tesco, and other UK’s supermarkets.

WATCH: Cop Fired for Saying He Gets “Paid a Ton of Money to Shoot People”

by Matt Agorist, The Free Thought Project:

A cop has been fired after he claimed he was “trigger happy” and admitted that if he shoots someone he “makes a ton in overtime.”

Hartford, CT — (RT) A Connecticut police officer who warned suspected trespassers not to run because he felt “trigger happy” has been fired from the force after video footage revealed him saying that he gets paid overtime if he shoots someone.

Hartford police officer Stephen Barone was involved in what appeared to be a routine incident last August in which he stopped a group of males suspected of trespassing on private property. But things took a sinister turn when Barone was also heard boasting that if he shot someone he would be paid overtime.

Parents Lose One More Right in California as the State Limits Kid’s Menu Drinks to Water or Milk

by Meadow Clark, The Organic Prepper:

Yes, the rumors are true. California lawmakers passed a state law that forces restaurants within the state to offer only select beverages on children’s menus. Governor Jerry Brown signed SB 1192 into law in late September and it easily passed in both the State and the Assembly. Support for the nanny state law flew under the guise of what’s healthiest for the children.

The default options for beverages on children’s menus have been forced to change to unflavored milk and water.

In other words, one more option than a dungeon.

“Covert” Facial Recognition Street Lights Coming to a Neighborhood Near You

from Activist Post:

A recent Reuters article reveals that ST Engineering has been awarded $5.5 million to install facial recognition street lights in Singapore.

ST’s smart street lights come equipped with sensors, LED screens and covert cameras already installed.

Incredibly, ST claims their spying street lights can bring “healthcare benefits to residents.”

Security Robots Invade NYC, and An Education Droid Speaks At UK Parliament

by Aaron Kesel, Activist Post:

Security robots have invaded NYC and are now patrolling the streets, while diplomatic robots are roaming around UK parliament floors.

Robots are becoming more prevalent and relevant in society and, like it or not, the androids are here to stay. This  technology will only exponentially increase as time passes, as Boston Dynamics has showcased over the years.

Now thanks to that little idea of creating robotic cretins there are security cyborgs patrolling in the tri-state area.

Boycott Facebook, Twitter, and Google. Here’s Why:

by Eric Zuesse, Washington’s Blog:

NATO — the neoconservatives, the marketeers for firms such as Lockheed Martin and BAE — has taken over the social-media giants and much of online international ‘news’-reporting, including that of virtually all independent news-sites and blogs.

Facebook, Twitter, and Google, in recent days, delivered what might be the death-blows.

NATO’s main PR agency, think-tank, and lobbying organization, is ‘non-profit’ — a legal tax-dodge that’s financed by donations from those weapons-making firms and their supporting firms and their ‘non-profits’, so that the taxes that it doesn’t pay will need to be paid instead by the general public.

Facebook Deletes Disabled Veteran’s Page Without Warning — After Taking $300,000 for Ads

0

by Lucas Nolan, Breitbart:

Facebook blacklisted the conservative news page run by disabled Air Force veteran Brian Kolfage with no warning or explanation — after he reportedly spent more than $300,000 on Facebook advertising.

On his new website which aims to put an end to social media censorship, Air Force veteran and triple-amputee Brian Kolfage explains who he is and the challenges he’s facing stating:  “I’m a veteran of The United States Air Force. I was severely wounded in Combat, on 9/11/2004 while serving in Iraq I lost both my legs entirely and my right hand. I’m the most severely wounded US Airman to survive.”

Threats to Family Farms & Homesteading from Agri-Business and Groupthink

by Jeremiah Johnson, SHTF Plan:

This research-based article details the multiple threats to good, community farming practices and small-scale organic/cooperative endeavors. The threats take the form of social engineering in the guise of “managed providers working for the common good of the majority of people,” when in effect it concentrates the wealth and resources in the hands of the few and leaves the average family farm and homesteader out in the cold, or worse. “Legislates” them right into illegality with previously legal practices (such as rainwater catchments systems, or sustainable family farms.)

Khashoggi’s Killing Took 7 Minutes, Chopped Into Pieces While Alive: Turkish Source

by Middle East Eye, The Anti Media:

It took seven minutes for Jamal Khashoggi to die, a Turkish source who has listened in full to an audio recording of the Saudi journalist’s last moments told Middle East Eye.

Khashoggi was dragged from the Consul General’s office at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul and onto the table of his study next door, the Turkish source said.

Horrendous screams were then heard by a witness downstairs, the source said.

Is the Purge of Independent Media a Coordinated Attack by the Military Industrial Complex?

by Derrick Broze, Activist Post:

Victims of Facebook’s most recent purge should not forget the connections between the social media giant and the Western Military-Industrial Complex.

On Thursday, Facebook announced they were unpublishing, or purging, over 500 pages and 200 accounts who are accused of spreading political spam. Several of these pages and writers were also removed from Twitter on the same day.

No, Facebook is NOT “Private,” Their Censorship Arm is Government Funded

by Matt Agorist, The Free Thought Project:

Facebook is not private. They are partnered with a NATO backed think tank to censor their platform that is funded by the US government.

“Facebook is a private company and can delete any pages they want,” has been repeated ad nauseam since Alex Jones was wiped from its platform. While it is certainly true that a private company can and should be able to choose who they associate with, the idea that Facebook is private is not accurate. For this reason, the recent purge of hundreds of alternative media sites, including the Free Thought Project, was not only questionable, but unconstitutional.

The Facebook Purge of Independent Media: What You’re Not Being Told

by Derrick Broze, via The Anti Media:

On Thursday, Facebook announced they were unpublishing, or purging, over 500 pages and 200 accounts who are accused of spreading political spam. Several of these pages and writers were also removed from Twitter on the same day.

“Today, we’re removing 559 Pages and 251 accounts that have consistently broken our rules against spam and coordinated inauthentic behavior,” Facebook stated in a blog post. Facebook states that the people behind this alleged spam “create networks of Pages using fake accounts or multiple accounts with the same names” and “post the same clickbait posts in dozens of Facebook Groups”.
