Millions of U.S. companies might be busy over the holidays forking over their data to the Treasury Department, thanks to a last-minute ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
The Fifth Circuit on Monday overturned a lower court’s injunction against a constitutionally dubious law that requires the country’s estimated 32.6 million active companies to submit their private ownership information to a central database ran by the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN.
The ruling means that all companies formed prior to 2024 must file a report with Treasury by next Wednesday, Jan. 1. Companies formed this year are required to file within 90 days of their formation.

According to the survey, the last pollination season was the second most deadly on record for U.S. honeybees. From April 1, 2022 to April 1, 2023, US beekeepers lost an estimated 48.2% of their honey bee colonies. The report includes surveys from small and large-sized operations involving 3,006 US beekeepers who collectively manage 314,360 colonies.

An engineer from Boeing, Sam Salehpour, warned members of the United States Senate on Wednesday of a potential loss of hundreds of lives if quality issues at the aviation giant are not resolved urgently.
In testimony before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee’s investigations subcommittee, Salehpour claimed Boeing’s negligent disregard for concerns raised by employees and hostility to safety endangers passengers’ and crews’ lives. He specifically highlighted faults with over 1,000 Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets currently in service that could lead to premature fatigue failure.

The Argentinian Pope Francis is also disqualified as an “emissary of evil” by Milei. The “wig” enjoys an almost inexplicable immunity and jester’s licence in the country.
