Matthew Colangelo, one of the Biden Department of Justice (DOJ)’s top attorneys, who forewent a white-shoe law firm career to instead work for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, received at least $12,000 by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for “consulting” services in 2018. The former Biden government attorney delivered opening remarks in former President Donald J. Trump‘s Manhattan-based hush money trial and has handled a portion of the questioning during witness testimony.
The National Pulse reported last week that Colangelo has been linked to partisan lawfare campaigns against conservative political groups and Republican lawmakers as far back as 2011. House Republicans are currently investigating Colangelo over his past work and possible ongoing communications with the Biden Justice Department that could conflict with his prosecution of Trump.

As Reduxx reported, British darts star Deta Hedman refused to play against the Netherlands’s Noa-Lynn Van Leuven during Saturday’s Denmark Open quarter-final in Esbjerg. As a result, Van Leuven received a free pass to the semi-finals.
“I’m not playing against a man in a women’s event,” Hedman told German newspaper Bild.

Army Confirms Russia Has Detained an American Soldier

The United States Army confirmed reports on Monday that Russia has detained an American soldier.
“On May 2, 2024, Russian authorities in Vladivostok, Russia, detained an American soldier on charges of criminal misconduct,” Army Spokeswoman Cynthia O. Smith said in a statement:
The Russian Federation notified the U.S. Department of State of the criminal detention in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. The Army notified his family, and the U.S. Department of State is providing appropriate consular support to the soldier in Russia. Given the sensitivity of this matter, we are unable to provide additional details at this time.

The latest information from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) shows that the Federal Reserve is caught between a rock and a hard place.
Just before their latest meeting, CNBC reported that not much would change, and summarized the “feeling in the room” regarding Fed rates:
“Pretty much everybody on the FOMC is talking from the same script right now,” said Guy LeBas, chief fixed income strategist at Janney Montgomery Scott. “With maybe one or two exceptions, policymakers pretty universally agree that the last few months of inflation data are too warm to justify action in the near term. But they’re still hopeful that they will be in a position to cut rates later.”
