EU fines Mastercard $650 million for breaking antitrust laws

from RT:

The European Commission has fined US payment system Mastercard €570 million ($648mn) for limiting the possibility for merchants to benefit from better conditions offered by banks established elsewhere across the EU.

Will The Real Jim Yong Kim Please Stand

0

by Corey Lynn, Corey’s Digs:

It is purported that World Bank President Jim Yong Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea, immigrated with his family to the U.S. at age five, grew up in the small town of Muscatine, Iowa, graduated Brown University and Harvard Medical School, and was soon on his way through a journey of a lifetime. He made the most incredible connections along the way, was ranked by Forbes as the 45th most powerful personin the world, and was named TIME Magazine’s “100 most influential people in the world.” It’s an inspirational story, until one begins to sift through the grandeur, to find mirrors of illusion that were well put in place. Was Kim really born in South Korea, and what about his sister and brother who are seldom mentioned? What connections catapulted his career moves, and why were his positions vital roles to achieving forward momentum with the 2030 agenda, he and his cohorts have discussed and planned for decades?

Two Ways the System Is Rigged: HFT and Oligarchic Inheritance

by Charles Hugh Smith, Of Two Minds:

The net result of a rigged system is the vast majority of the gains in income and wealth flow to the very tippy-top of the wealth/power pyramid.

We often hear how the system (i.e. our economy) is rigged to benefit the few at the expense of the many, but exactly how is it rigged? Longtime correspondent Zeus Y. recently highlighted two specific mechanisms that favor the top 0.01%: high frequency trading (HFT) and oligarchic inheritance, the generational transfer of immense wealth and the power it buys.

High frequency trading (HFT) is a mechanism only available to the few at the top of the wealth/power pyramid to skim money from markets–please watch the videos below for further explanation of how HFT works.

Gold is wealth protection against every currency and not just the dollar as the metal is at or near all-time highs in 72 countries

by Kenneth Schortgen, The Daily Economist:

Contrary to popular belief, the world runs on more than just five primary currencies (Dollar, Pound, Euro, Yen, Franc).  But because the U.S. still has control over the global reserve currency, the narrative often is that all other currencies really don’t count.

For thousands of years gold been both a balance and a check on the avarice of men and governments when it comes to purchasing power.  And in a new report out this week, gold still continues to do so as 72 national currencies are now at, near, or above their all-time highs in relation to the price of gold.

My name is Anneke Lucas and I was a sex slave to Europe’s elite at age 6

by Erin Elizabeth, Health Nut News:

The story below is an excerpt. And while it is hard to read, it’s important for the world to see.

“When I was a little girl in my native Belgium, I was put to work as a sex slave.

My mother sold me, and drove me wherever, whenever she got the call. The boss of this pedophile network was a Belgian cabinet minister. The clients were members of the elite. I recognized people from television. Their faces were familiar to the masses, while I was confronted with the dark side of their power addiction — the side no one would believe existed. I came across VIP’s, European heads of state, and even a member of a royal family.

Creepy Startup Selling Young People’s Blood to the Rich Now Accepts PayPal

from PJ Media:

A graduate of Stanford University – incubator of such famous blood-linked companies as Theranos – has launched a controversial start-up company, called Ambrosia, that will, for a generous fee, replace the blood of older people with that of younger donors in yet another attempt to conquer aging. Business Insider reported on the company first, while admitting there is little to no evidence that the procedure actually works.

But that hasn’t stopped Amborisa creator Jesse Karmazin, from accepting payments via PayPal for the procedure: he is charging $8,000 for one liter of young blood and $12,000 for two liters. Karmazin, who isn’t a licensed medical practitioner, told reporters last year that he had hoped to open his first clinic in New York City by the end of 2018. New York City has eluded him and instead he has opened locations in places like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tampa and Houston.

US Blunders Have Made Russia The Global Trade Pivot

by Mathew Maavak, Activist Post:

The year 2019 had barely begun before news emerged that six Russian sailors were kidnapped by pirates off the coast of Benin. It was perhaps a foretaste of risks to come. As nations reel from deteriorating economic conditions, instances of piracy and other forms of supply chain disruptions are bound to increase.

According to the International Maritime Bureau (IMB), 107 cases of piracy were noted during the first half of 2018 vis-à-vis 87 throughout 2017.  The 2018 tally included 32 cases in Southeast Asian waters and 48 along African shores – representing 75% of the total. To put this figure into perspective, Asian behemoths India and China – despite their vast shorelines – recorded only 2 cases of piracy each during the study period. Russia had none. In terms of hostages taken, the IMB tally read 102 in H1 2018 vs 63 in H1 2017.
