Emergency personnel in a small Oregon city had to respond to four separate fentanyl overdoses in a span of just six hours on Tuesday. By the next day, the entire county was placed in a state of emergency due to the prominence of the deadly drug.
Officials in Bend — a city of about 100,000 people, more than three hours south of Portland — first responded to a fentanyl overdose around 8:00 a.m. at Second Street and Franklin Avenue, KTVZ reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says that the United States Central Intelligence Agency is behind the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage that took place back in 2022. Putin said the U.S. had a “vested interest” in ensuring the pipeline is non-functional.
The pipelines, which were built to deliver natural gas from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea, were targeted in September of 2022. Several European Union countries launched investigations into the attacks, but no results have been published. During an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, which aired on Thursday, Putin put the blame squarely on the U.S.

A squad of FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration agents in March 2021 raided the Beverly Hills location of a company, U.S. Private Vaults, suspected of criminal activity.
Over several days, agents wearing masks photographed evidence, seized jewels, gold bullion, and coins, and confiscated some contraband (mostly drugs) from 1,400 safe-deposit boxes rented by an array of people, including a retired doctor, a saxophone player, a retired floor contractor, and at least two attorneys.

In more bad news for COVID-19 vaccine makers, researchers have found that omicron and all other variants of the COVID-19 virus are resistant to vaccine-induced antibodies and therefore less responsive to the jabs than believed.
This is according to a study that was published by the journal Vaccines in which the authors cautioned: “Our data reflect the poor durability of vaccine-induced nAb (neutralizing antibody) responses.”
