Former CIA Director John Brennan has been subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury in Florida as the Justice Department investigates whether former intelligence and law enforcement officials conspired against President Donald Trump.
Brennan has been ordered to appear on October 15 before a grand jury in Fort Pierce, Florida, according to a court filing Monday from his attorney, Ken Wainstein.
Wainstein said prosecutors described the investigation as a “far-reaching” criminal probe examining whether government officials involved in investigations targeting Trump over the past decade conspired to deprive the president of his civil rights.

The subpoena marks a significant development in the Justice Department investigation informally known as the “grand conspiracy” probe.
Brennan Subpoenaed to Appear Before Florida Grand Jury
Wainstein disclosed that prosecutors presented him with the subpoena last Thursday.
The attorney said he was informed that the grand jury investigation concerns the conduct of government officials who participated in investigations of Trump over the past decade.
Brennan, who led the CIA under former President Barack Obama, has faced renewed scrutiny over the intelligence community’s actions surrounding investigations into Trump.
The former CIA chief is also facing a separate federal investigation in Washington.
According to Wainstein, a prosecutor told him that Brennan remains a target of that investigation over whether he lied to Congress in 2023.
Brennan and his attorneys have denied the allegation.
The Florida subpoena therefore places Brennan under scrutiny in two separate federal investigations.
