Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna is demanding state-level criminal charges against Dr. Anthony Fauci after the former top infectious disease official spent Wednesday’s Senate hearing invoking the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times—refusing to answer a single question about his role in the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday, Fauci appeared before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee chaired by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), where he refused to answer any of the questions asked of him, repeatedly invoking his Fifth Amendment right not to speak.

“Dr. ‘Mengele’ Fauci may be protected by a federal pardon but that does not hold against state prosecution and civil lawsuits,” Rep. Luna wrote on X, referencing Nazi SS officer Josef Mengele and a preemptive pardon granted to Fauci by Joe Biden.
