Carlson, MTG Begin Planning to Build a Third Party

Weeks ago, podcaster Tucker Carlson and former GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene bolted the political party to which they had long belonged.

Now, they say, it’s time for a third party.

The reason: President Donald Trump’s betrayal of his base in starting another foreign war at the behest of Israel.

Carlson’s call for a third party came during an interview with the Columbia Journalism Review. MTG, as she is known, told English podcaster Piers Morgan that Trump has turned into a combination of Israel First chicken hawks Mark Levin, the Fox News bloviator, and GOP Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.

The We The People party, which reposted Greene’s interview, has created a website and X account.

Third Party, Yes; POTUS Candidate, No

Carlson said the “breaking point” with Trump was June 2025’s 12-day war, during which the United States struck Iran, “the first salvo in a regime-change effort led by Israel.”

Carlson, who regularly spoke to Trump, hasn’t done so since the president went to war on Iran. “I’m not interested in talking to him,” Carlson said:

I feel sorry for him. He’s not a man in charge of his own life at this point. I feel sorry for anybody who’s enslaved, including him. I mean, I visited him three times at the White House in the month before the Twelve-Day War, and I told him the same thing all three times: “You’re not gonna see the rise of a democratic, pro-Western government in Tehran. The best you’re gonna see there is just this suppurating wound.” And he said, “I know.”

Carlson said Fox tycoon Rupert Murdoch called Trump thrice daily to urge him to attack Iran. “And I know that because I’ve talked to Trump about it many times,” Carlson said.

The podcaster called Trump’s memorandum of understanding with Iran a “humiliating defeat for the United States.” But better that than going on, he said.

Noting that he never posts on social media, Carlson said that “the lesson of the last two and a half months” to him concluded a third party must be built:
