Federal investigators have raided the headquarters of a Soros-funded Democrat voter mobilization organization in Ohio as part of what multiple reports describe as an ongoing fraud investigation.

FBI agents executed search warrants at the offices of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative (OOC) on June 11 and reportedly conducted interviews with members of the organization across the state.

According to reports, agents arrived with subpoenas and, in some cases, sought access to electronic devices as part of the investigation.

While the Department of Justice has declined to discuss specifics of the case, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CBS News that the operation is tied to a fraud-related investigation.

Federal Investigation Targets Democratic-Aligned Organization

The Ohio Organizing Collaborative is a nonprofit group that works closely with Democratic political operations in Ohio, focusing heavily on voter registration, turnout efforts, and ballot initiative campaigns.

The organization has received substantial funding from a network of major left-leaning donors and advocacy groups, including organizations linked to billionaire financier George Soros.

According to recent tax filings, OOC reported more than $10 million in revenue during 2024.

Funding sources have included the George Soros family’s Foundation to Promote Open Society, which provided roughly $1.9 million between 2019 and 2020.

Additional support has come from the Open Society Action Fund, the New Venture Fund, the Tides Foundation, the American Federation of Teachers, and the Service Employees International Union.

A Department of Justice official stressed that the search warrants were approved through the normal judicial process.

“Search warrants are authorized by a judge, and anything said by any organization or others in the media is unfounded speculation, as the target of any investigation is not privy to the search warrant affidavit until after indictment,” the official said in a statement.

Organization Claims Political Motivation

Leaders associated with OOC have accused the Trump administration of using federal law enforcement to target political opponents.

Prentiss Haney, an OOC board member authorized to speak on behalf of the organization, argued that the investigation was intended to intimidate voter registration efforts during an election cycle.

“How can they distract and intimidate civil rights leaders and voters and community leaders who are helping people get registered to vote, and create a national spectacle about it?” Haney told MS Now.
