“Donald Trump picked the wrong target,” says Newsom.
California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom announced on Monday that he and his wife are being investigated by the Department Of Justice, claiming to be on “Donald Trump’s hit list” because he’s considering a presidential run in 2028.
“Today, my wife & I joined Donald Trump’s hit list. He has directed his Department of Justice to investigate us. They have not found a crime – they are simply trying to find one,” he wrote. “He isn’t coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President. He hates that I consistently call him out. He is simply the most corrupt President in American history.”

Newsom added, “We have nothing to hide. Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere. The country is watching.”
“Federal agents have knocked on the doors of family friends and former employees,” the governor said in a video post. “They’re demanding records, they’re abusing the grand jury process.”

The irony of Newsom’s statement is glaring as the grand jury process was repeatedly abused by the Biden administration in its attempts to imprison President Trump, from the 2023 Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg “hush money case that had POTUS indicted on 34 felony counts to the Fulton County, Georgia, DA Fani Willis case that same year where a special purpose grand jury indicted Trump for alleged election interference.
