by Monica Showalter, American Thinker:

Why is the Vatican allowing leftist U.S. politicians to exploit the pope?
Pope Leo XIV and his supporters have resolutely denied that the pope is a politician in the wake of his spat with President Trump.
That’s a little disingenuous. Aside from the fact that Pope Leo was elected, and that classical Catholic education teaches Aristotle, who said that man is a political animal, and anyone who lives outside a polis, or city-state, is “either a beast or a god,” politics is human nature. The pope is not a beast, and he’s especially not a god. And while the Vatican pretends, or deludes itself, by saying it’s not political, it is.

I’d like to know why bishops keep saying the pope is not a politician.
If that’s the case, then both he and the rest of them should stop trying to second-guess policy decisions that the people elect politicians to make.
Enough already.

Pope Leo, before he was elected pope, was very political indeed in his tweets.
