Secretary of State Marco Rubio was severely criticized yesterday when he attempted to explain that “preemptive” bombings were needed, because Israel was going to do it anyway, and they wanted to contain the damage from possible retaliatory attacks from Iran.

Rubio Says US Had to Strike Iran Because Iran Would Defend Itself If Attacked
The conflicting explanation comes as CENTCOM is reportedly calling for troops to “Be Relentlessly Lethal.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters on Monday that the U.S. had to wage war against Iran now because Iran would act to defend itself if it came under attack — a circular explanation that appeared to pass the buck for the aggression to Israel, despite reports that Israeli leaders have been coordinating a joint attack with the U.S. for months.
“It was abundantly clear that if Iran came under attack by anyone, the United States or Israel or anyone, they were going to respond and respond against the United States,” Rubio said.
Rubio suggested that Israel was going to act unilaterally and strike Iran regardless — despite abundant evidence that this isn’t true — so the U.S. was forced to coordinate a strike first in order to prevent U.S. casualties.
Rubio got so much pushback from people in both political parties, that Trump went public today to refute Rubio, claiming Iran was ready to attack first.

With Secretary of State Marco Rubio seated just two places away, President Donald Trump publicly contradicted his top diplomat’s explanation for why the US launched strikes against Iran—offering an account that directly undermined the one Rubio had delivered to Congress less than 24 hours earlier.
The moment, witnessed by reporters during a bilateral meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Tuesday, exposed the deepening confusion at the heart of the administration’s case for war.
When asked whether Israel forced his hand, Trump responded:
‘No. I might have forced their hand. You see, we were having negotiations with these lunatics, and it was my opinion that they were going to attack first.’
It was a direct rebuttal—not only of Israel’s alleged role in triggering the conflict, but of the precise framing Rubio had used to justify the intervention to congressional leaders.
However, the real reason the U.S. attacked Iran has now been made public today, by the actual people doing it, the U.S. Military Officers.
These officers have come forward to report that they were directed to tell their troops that Trump was “anointed by Jesus” and that war with Iran was “all part of God’s divine plan” to bring about Armageddon.
This has led to low troop morale, and so far at least 110 reports have been received by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) since Trump first launched strikes on Saturday.
