Tlaib inadvertantly revealed that she has no identification with the U.S., which she considers the ‘other.’
In the past few elections, news reporters have taken to reporting about foreign nationals, in places such as the U.K., openly stating that they, too, should have a right to vote in U.S. elections, given that everything the U.S. does supposedly affects their countries. I’ve always viewed that as ominous.

It certainly has led to phenomena like this, coming from Rep. Rashida Tlaib, whose congressional 12th district in Michigan includes Dearborn Heights, as reported by Mediaite:
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) was called out — including by some nonpartisan critics — for seemingly referring to the U.S. as “they” in a post condemning the attack on Iran, even though she is an elected member of the U.S. Congress.
“Both the U.S. and genocidal Israel doesn’t care about the laws. This is who they are,” Tlaib posted on X on Saturday. Her post included footage of a school that was hit in the military strikes and claimed approximately 40 people were killed; The New York Times on Sunday reported “dozens” were killed in the attack, according to “Iranian health officials and state media.”

So now the entire U.S. is “they.”
And she is the “we.” And she has no identification whatsoever with the U.S., other than as a vehicle to advance Palestinian, probably the Hamas version’s, interests. She doesn’t even like the U.S., let alone its elected president, based on her reflexively delivered tweet. To her, the whole country is her enemy, she’s unable to assimilate it, and now she’s there to shut it down.
