It is a new year.
2026 rolled in with the usual uncorking of champagne bottles, hugs and kisses between loved ones, acquaintances, even strangers, and the customary animated suspension of human reality with hopes of ‘world peace’ and a ‘better world.’
On the second day of January, that is, the second day of the New Year, a year of new hope for the world, Venezuelan narco-terrorist and dictator Nicolás Maduro was removed from power, arrested, and brought to Brooklyn, New York, to face federal charges. Some of the charges against Maduro include narco-terrorism, cocaine importation conspiracy, and weapons charges.

Considering the power and influence of narco-nations like Venezuela, Cuba, Colombia, and Mexico, all of them Latin-American hotbeds of communism, socialism, cronyism, and opportunism to oppress and corrupt people, one would think that thoughtful people throughout the globe would rein in the promise of peace, liberty, and prosperity in the New Year with the arrest of the Venezuelan dictator.
Well, yes, right-minded people are celebrating the arrest of Maduro as a sign of much better times ahead for the people of Venezuela and Latin America. They are celebrating throughout the world. Venezuelans in Venezuela, in the United States, and Europe have been hoping for and anticipating this moment for the last two and a half decades.
But what are hope, prosperity, and a better world without leftists and Marxists placing a conditional asterisk next to these words? Reality is that for the denizens of leftism and Marxism, the aforementioned words are merely just that, words.
The reality is that because narco-terrorists in Venezuela, Cuba, Colombia, and Mexico are enemies of the United States, the arrest of any of their leaders by the United States signals cries of ‘war’ and ‘imperialism’ by leftists and Marxists, America-loathing ideologues in the legacy media, and universities. The latter are the two most powerful critics of prosperity and liberty – dispensers of disinformation that the New Year 2026 still can’t shake off.
Let us not be fooled by the cries for hope, peace, and a better world that leftism proclaims. That is a ruse, a smoke screen to hide their quest for power. Leftists utter these words tongue-in-cheek. They don’t believe any of it. Maduro’s arrest is just the latest example of this. What matters to affected leftists is the appearance of loving and caring about their ‘fellow man.’ Meanwhile, people who truly understand the reality of dictatorships like Venezuela swear by distributive justice, liberty, and a better life.
Regardless that people in Venezuela and those who have fled that South American nation want liberty for the future of their nation, the hapless leftist leftovers – burnouts that grew up and continue to be conditioned to hate America – find offense with Maduro’s arrest. Remember: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
