A characteristic of the lying leftist is the insistence upon using the state as an artesian well of cash at which the populace drinks, getting but never giving. The left rewrites the Apostle Paul’s words quoted above to read “if anyone is not willing to work, the state must feed him anyway.” Getting but never giving.
“For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10)

But behind this supposedly bottomless feed bin lies the real goal of the leftist: power and control. Whoever controls the resources also controls the people. This is Marxism. The heart of communism. Control through economics. Watch the Democrats historically using a welfare state to deceive the naïve.
Economic control as a means to enslave the masses is, according to the Apostle John in the last book of the Bible, a tactic of that coming tyrant, Antichrist:
“Also, it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.” (Revelation 13:16-17)
The idea of a one-world-kingdom tyrant who demands that every “citizen” be somehow marked in order to buy or sell is not such a flight of fancy notion in light of the technology of our day. And certainly, this evil philosophy is found even now among the left. Consider, for instance, the “green” movement – that earth-worshipping religion which the left tirelessly pushes upon everyone, and would do so if not for restraints enforced by people who are still sane. The left would have it that no one can buy or sell anything that is not approved by their dystopian state.
Only electric vehicles. Only foods given a green stamp endorsement. Prohibition of oil or coal as energy sources. Cessation of logging and lumber industries. Prohibitions upon agriculture. A marketplace that is supplied only with the gods’ of the green approval. Buyers and sellers must all submit to the gods and religion of the green. [This “green” is, incidentally, a brown desert wasteland.]
The lying left, in other words, sets itself (themselves) up as God. Like that devil of old who still prowls about today looking for naïve, easy prey, the motto of the left is:
“I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” (Isaiah 14:14)
The left’s quest for economic power and control explains much of the rage against President Trump and all who stand with him. His goals include minimizing the state’s control over commerce and the economy. Free, fair trade. An economic engine that will “run” as it should when the “environmentally friendly” ethanol fuels are removed. An economy that is characterized by rewarding those who work and withholding from those who refuse to. A system wherein student loans must be repaid, not handed out as freebies. The wise use of natural resources such as oil, minerals, water, the soil, animals, and more. But at each point in that list, the left inserts itself and says “no!”
