Zero Hedge recently published a piece showing that internet searches coming out of Washington DC for “BleachBit,” “Wipe hard drive,” “offshore bank,” erupted in the weeks since President Trump took office, and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) got to work.
Internet search trends in the Washington, DC, metro area have been nothing short of stunning in recent weeks, reflecting what appears to be growing panic within the federal bureaucracy as President Trump and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) root out corruption in non-governmental organizations (NGO) and federal agencies.
Earlier this week, internet search trends for “Criminal Defense Lawyer” and “RICO Laws” went viral on X, fueling speculation that Washington’s political elites were in panic mode. The searches coincided with DOGE’s efforts to neuter USAID’s funding of NGOs that propped up a shadow government, as well as begin cutting tens of thousands of workers from various federal agencies.

Many will remember “Bleachbit” as the program Hillary Clinton used to wipe her hard drives when she was under investigation.
Having the trends showing the panicked state of Washington bureaucrats makes it very clear that a lot of people connected to Washington DC, be it employees of federal agencies, or individual politicians, trying to hide what they have been up to for years.
TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE……
Maybe Democrats believed their own press, or thought their constant lawfare against President Trump would prevent him from beating Kamala Harris in the November presidential election, but whatever their reasoning, most of these searches, didn’t spike until after President Trump took office, with a few starting just days before his inauguration.
What these users conducting the internet searches reported on by ZH didn’t seem to realize, is that Elon Musk and his team of DOGE members were busy writing their algorithms to map federal payment systems, long before the official creation of DOGE by a Trump Executive Order.
According to a DOGE timeline piece at the website Sustainable Tech Partner, within the first 80 hours, “The department cancelled approximately $420 million worth of current or impending government contracts, as well as two leases.”
The Washington Post highlights the use of AI programs “with personally identifiable information for people who manage grants, as well as sensitive internal financial data,” input, which immediately produced how much money was going where, and tracing it to its final destination, which exposed organizations use of Americans’ tax dollars ultimately funding a slew of the most egregious liberal priorities, from drag shows in other countries, to payments to U.S. media outlets that “coincidentally” push a liberal agenda.
The DOGE team had also been busy creating algorithms to map out entire systems, before the data could be destroyed, and were doing so within minutes of the EO being signed, while federal employees were home, with no idea that when they came to work the next morning, some were locked out, and the fraud and waste was already exposed.
The fact is these people in DC that are trying to find ways to erase their hard drives, are doing so far too late, because DOGE already has the information, and by trying to do so now, would open them up to obstruction charges when U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi investigates whether to bring charges and what those charges will be.
