The photo appears to show U.S. Marshalls alongside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Unsubstantiated rumors circulating on the innerweb claim that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may have been taken into custody by U.S. Marshalls following the impeachment hearing after a photograph surfaced showing what appears to be U.S. Marshalls escorting Pelosi out of the House chambers.

However, further analysis of the photo reveals that the Democrat speaker from California may have been returning to her leadership office at the time.

Are those U.S. Marshalls special agents, Secret Service agents, or Capitol Police walking next to Pelosi in the photograph? It could be any of those possibilities.

It’s hard to tell from the image but whoever they are they do not appear to be in a typical bodyguard formation as one YouTuber pointed out in a recent video. In other words, the agents don’t appear to be protecting her.

The following image shows a U.S. Marshall Special Agent badge on the left and a U.S. Secret Service Special Agent badge on the right.

The badges have similarities making it very hard to tell exactly which type the agents in the photo were wearing.

Another image shows the Capitol Police badge that also looks somewhat similar.

Intellihub founder and editor-in-chief Shepard Ambellas Tweeted the following on Sunday showing the image in question: “Rumors abuzz on the Internet that @SpeakerPelosi is in the custody of the U.S. Marshalls after this photo surfaced on 13 Jan after the opening debate on the impeachment of Trump.”

Intellihub reported last Tuesday that Pelosi had been absent from her post for two days in a row. To top it all off, it just so happens the Hose Speaker was absent from her post for the two days prior to the day the photograph in question was taken.
