Russia issues warning to Donald Trump and Pentagon over irate Iranian response

by Andrew West, Freedom OutPost:

When it comes to the machinations of Moscow, only one thing is truly certain:  Russia is nobody’s friend.

The Kremlin’s hopes for world domination tend to hinge on their absurd and unprecedented attempts to disrupt the world at large, pulling salacious strings behind the scenes in order to spark dissent, fury, confusion, and division.

Here in the United States, we have fallen victim to some of Russia’s most heinous clandestine intervention ever, having endured at least two election cycles in which covert comrades and their Kremlin captains have attempted to usurp the will of the American people.

Now, as the US continues to march toward a conflict with Iran, Russia is sticking their nose into the fray.

Russia told the United States on Tuesday to drop what it called provocative plans to deploy more troops to the Middle East and to cease actions that looked like a conscious attempt to provoke war with Iran.

The comments, from Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov to Russian news agencies, followed an announcement from Acting U.S. Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan a day earlier who said Washington planned to send around 1,000 more troops to the Middle East for defensive purposes.

Ryabkov was terse in his assessment.

Ryabkov told reporters that Moscow had repeatedly warned Washington and its regional allies about what he called the “unthinking and reckless pumping up of tensions in an explosive region.”

“Now what we see are unending and sustained U.S. attempts to crank up political, psychological, economic and yes military pressure on Iran in quite a provocative way. They (these actions) cannot be assessed as anything but a conscious course to provoke war,” Ryabkov was cited as saying.

The clearly untenable position comes as Iranian forces have been blamed for a number of explosive attacks in the region with targeted the Middle East’s oil infrastructure.
