from Voice Of Europe:
Four officers from Morocco are scheduled to help deal with young criminal migrants. They will be patrolling the Goutte d’Or neighbourhood of Paris, where many migrants live openly on the streets, in the hopes to combat their increased problems with violence, drugs, and prostitution, according to a report by BFMTV.
The police from the North African country’s support will also include attempts to identify migrants in preparation for deportation to Morocco.
Women in the city have complained of harassment by the migrants with some saying they aren’t even allowed into various cafes because they are women.
A letter was signed by some 1,600 residents of Goutte d’Or, and other areas heavily populated with young migrants demanding the government deal with the problems they are causing.
Though Paris has set up centres for the Moroccans, few of them have showed any interest in participating in any of the city’s programmes.
One local woman says: “These are insults, incessant reflections. The atmosphere is agonising, to the point of having to modify our itinerary, our clothes. Some even gave up going out”.
