In their ongoing war of words, President Trump is the latest to ante-up, calling North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un a “madman” in one of his early Friday morning tweets:
“Kim Jong-un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn’t mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!” Trump tweeted around 6:30 a.m.
This follows Kim’s rare, personal response to Trump’s speech at the United Nations on Tuesday, when Trump warned that “we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea” if the rogue regime forces the U.S. to defend itself or its allies.
On Friday, responding to Trump, Kim described the U.S. president as “mentally deranged” and a “dotard,” and said the U.S. would “pay dearly” for his threat.
Kim warned his regime may take “a corresponding, highest level of hard-line countermeasure in history,” according to the statement released by its official KCNA news agency.
